Kazuki Yoshimi
is a Japanese former professional baseball pitcher. As a player, Yoshimi spent his entire 15-year career in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) with the Chunichi Dragons. Early career Yoshimi started playing baseball in Grade 2 of elementary school. At high school, Yoshimi was the ace for Konkō Ōsaka High School and took his team to the second round of the 2002 Japanese High School Baseball Invitational Tournament. After graduating high school, Yoshimi joined Toyota's corporate baseball team where he was regarded as one of the best players in industrial league baseball. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. Estrellas Orientales (English: Eastern Stars), also known as Estrellas de Oriente, is a baseball team in the Dominican Winter League. Based in San Pedro de Macorís, the team has historically struggled, winning championships only in 1936, 1954, 1968 and 2019. History The team was established on 15 December 1910 with the idea of competing against Tigres del Licey, that dominated the Dominican League during those years. The Japan Series, the 57th edition of Nippon Professional Baseball's championship series, began on October 21 and ended on October 26, and matched the Central League champion Chunichi Dragons against the Pacific League champion, Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters.
