Kaviyam
''Kaviyam'' is a 1994 Tamil-language drama film directed by M. Ponraj. The film stars newcomer Ruban George and Nandhini, with newcomers Salomon, Thamizhan, M. Ponraj and Vennira Aadai Moorthy playing supporting roles. It was released on 18 February 1994. Plot The film begins with the cancellation of a wedding. The bride Shanthi (Nandhini) refuses to marry the groom Kumar (Salomon) who wanted a large dowry and she humiliates him. Shanthi and Kumar are doctors in the same hospital. Shanthi challenges him to marry a better groom who will not ask her any dowry. Raja (Ruban George) is a villager who comes to the city searching for work. In town, Raja befriends Vaithi (M. Ponraj) and Vaithi accommodates him in his lodge. One night, Raja finds an old man who gets struck by lightning and he brings that old man to his daughter Shanthi but the old man dies on the way. Vennira Aadai Moorthy
Vennira Aadai Moorthy (born 25 July 1936) is an Indian actor and comedian in Tamil cinema. He has starred in many Tamil films and television serials as a comedian and also played supporting roles. He is a lawyer by education, and holds a B.L. degree in addition to a PhD in astrology. He is married to actress Manimala who played Suhasini's mother in '' Sindhu Bhairavi'' and the heroine in ''Vallavanukku Vallavan'' (1965). He is also a well known script-writer. Kamal Haasan's first full-fledged film as hero ''Maalai Sooda Vaa'', had Murthy as a script writer. He is especially remembered for his Sunday TV Show 'Meendum Meendum Sirippu', which aired on Sun TV for 11 years. Nagoor Babu, known by his stage name Mano, is an Indian playback singer, voice-over artist, actor, producer, television anchor and composer. He is a recipient of several awards such as the Nandi Awards from the Government of Andhra Pradesh and Kalaimamani award from the Government of Tamil Nadu. Vasudevan (15 June 1944 – 20 February 2011), known as Malaysia Vasudevan, was a Malaysian-Indian playback singer and actor in Tamil cinema. Early life Malaysia Vasudevan's parents were from Palakkad. Chattu Nair of Ottappalam and Ammalu of Polpulli, along with their families migrated to British Malaya in search of a livelihood. After a few years, Chattu Nair married Ammalu in an arranged marriage. Vasudevan was born on 15 June 1944 as their eighth and youngest child. Even though he was a Malayali, as was the case with the majority of contemporary South Indian migrants to Malaya then, his surroundings in Malaysia was dominated by the Tamil language and culture. ''The Indian Express'' is an English-language Indian daily newspaper founded in 1932. It is published in Mumbai by the Indian Express Group.
