''Kaukės'' (''Masks'') is a Lithuanian reality singing competition television series based on the '' Masked Singer'' franchise which originated from the South Korean version of the show '' King of Mask Singer''. Production was announced in November 2019. The first season premiered on LNK on 13 September 2020. Production A group of celebrities compete anonymously on stage, singing in full costumes over a series of episodes. The competing celebrities have to sign strict confidentiality agreement and they can't tell anybody (their friends and families) that they are competing in project Kaukės. During interviews their voices are distorted by special programs and they only sing as best as they can without any special effects. Each episode, a portion of the competitors are paired off into face-off competitions, in which each will perform a song of his or her choice. LNK (Laisvas ir nepriklausomas kanalas) is a commercial television channel operating in Lithuania and owned by MG Baltic Media. It was a free-to-air TV channel targeted towards a Lithuanian audience. ''Masked Singer'' is an international music reality game show franchise. It originated from the South Korean program '' The King of Mask Singer'', developed by Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation. Format The format features the celebrities who perform a song anonymously in elaborate masks or head-to-toe costumes. The panelists will then guess the identity based on clues the singers give about themselves. After their performances, the singers are voted by the audiences in each round while the panelists do not participate in the vote. The singer who receives the fewest votes in each round is unmasked and eliminated until the winner is declared. The participating celebrities can come from various different occupational backgrounds. The original South Korean series features various musicians, actors or actresses, and comedians. "I Feel Love" is a song by American singer and songwriter Donna Summer. Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1970 by Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals) and Roger Taylor (Queen drummer), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals), later joined by John Deacon (bass). Simas Jasaitis (born 26 March 1982) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player for BC Dzūkija of the Lietuvos krepšinio lyga, Lithuania Basketball League (LKL). Žydrūnas Savickas (; born July 15, 1975) is a Lithuanian powerlifter and professional strongman. Due to his multiple championship wins in all major international strongman competitions, as well as his longevity in the sport, he is widely considered by many to be the greatest strength athlete of all time. Stano (born Stanislav Stavitsky, russian: Станислав Ставицкий, lt, Stanislavas Stavickis; 25 November 1981) is a Russian-Lithuanian singer, songwriter, and author. He is the frontman of the musical group Delfinai. Stavickis has also written two novels, autobiographical ''Kiek kainuoja ilgesys'' (How Much Does Longing Cost, 2004), and ''Neįtikėtinos istorijos'' (Unbelievable Stories, 2008). Stavickis was born to a Russian mother and a Lithuanian father. He came to Lithuania in 1992 to study at the Vilnius Secondary School "Lietuvių namai" (now known as Vilnius lietuvių namai), designed for students of Lithuanian heritage from foreign countries. Ieva Zasimauskaitė (born 2 July 1993) is a Lithuanian singer who represented Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with her song "When We're Old". Rūta Ščiogolevaitė-Damijonaitienė (born 25 June 1981) is a Lithuanian singer. She decided late in her career that she wanted to be known as just Rūta. Danas Rapšys (; born 21 May 1995) is a Lithuanian swimmer. He is a two-time Olympian, a multiple-time Lithuanian record holder in the men's backstroke, freestyle and butterfly, and a double swimming champion at the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei, Taiwan.
