Katensen (Uetze)
Katensen is a small village in Lower Saxony that is part of the town Uetze, the village is located about 30 km East of Hanover. not to be confused with Katensen (Offen) History Katensen was first recorded in 1265 in the Document Bishop Otto of Hildesheim, in September 2015 it celebrated its 750th Birthday. Coat of Arms The coat of arms is divided into three parts. In the upper blue field it contains two crossed scythes (as a reference to agriculture), below that in a yellow field a blue red-armored Brunswick lion (because of the affiliation to the former Brunswick-Lüneburg region). The final part is a blue field rounded off towards the bottom with a silver old Germanic wolf's tang as a reminder of the affiliation to the district of Burgdorf. Lower Saxony
Lower Saxony (german: Niedersachsen ; nds, Neddersassen; stq, Läichsaksen) is a German state (') in northwestern Germany. Uetze
Uetze ʏt͡səis a municipality in the district of Hanover, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated on the river Fuhse, approximately east of Hanover. Geography Uetze is the easternmost municipality in the Hanover Region. It is bordered by the districts of Celle, Gifhorn and Peine as well as the towns Lehrte and Burgdorf, which are both part of the Hanover Region. Uetze consists of nine villages which used to be autonomous municipalities. Hildesheim
Hildesheim (; nds, Hilmessen, Hilmssen; la, Hildesia) is a city in Lower Saxony, Germany with 101,693 inhabitants. It is in the district of Hildesheim, about southeast of Hanover on the banks of the Innerste River, a small tributary of the Leine River. A Schützenverein (German for "marksmen's club") is a local voluntary association found in German-speaking countries revolving around shooting as a sport, often target shooting to Olympic rules or with historic weapons. Berlin–Lehrte Railway
The Berlin–Lehrte railway, known in German as the Lehrter Bahn (''Lehrte Railway''), is an east–west line running from Berlin via Lehrte to Hanover. Its period as a separate railway extended from its opening in 1871 to the nationalisation of its owner, the Magdeburg-Halberstadt Railway Company on 1 July 1886. The company's Berlin station, the Lehrter Bahnhof was finally torn down in 1958. The 239 km long route, which is still open, runs from Berlin Hauptbahnhof in a westerly direction to Spandau.
