Kate Rutter is an English actress, best known for ''I, Daniel Blake'', ''Peterloo (film), Peterloo'' and ''River City''. Filmography Personal life Kate Rutter was born and raised in Leeds, Yorkshire, she trained as an actress at Rose Bruford College in Sidcup, Southeast London and began her career in 1977 working on various productions for Yorkshire Playhouse under director Phil Young. Her first television appearance was in 1994 in series Earthfasts (TV series), Earthfasts by William Mayne. Since then Kate has appeared as a series regular in both ITV (TV network), ITV's Coronation Street and BBC River City. In 2020, Kate Rutter's appearance on BBC's Question Time sparked controversy over whether the actress was hired by the BBC. Leeds () is a city and the administrative centre of the City of Leeds district in West Yorkshire, England. It is built around the River Aire and is in the eastern foothills of the Pennines. Kenneth Charles Loach (born 17 June 1936) is a British film director and screenwriter. ''The Railway Man'' is a 2013 war film directed by Jonathan Teplitzky. It is an adaptation of the 1995 autobiography of the same name by Eric Lomax, and stars Colin Firth, Nicole Kidman, Jeremy Irvine, and Stellan Skarsgård. ''Scott & Bailey'' is a British police procedural series that debuted on ITV on 29 May 2011 and concluded on 27 April 2016. The series stars Suranne Jones, Lesley Sharp, Amelia Bullmore, Nicholas Gleaves, Danny Miller and Pippa Haywood. ''Pierrepoint'' is a 2005 British film directed by Adrian Shergold about the life of British executioner Albert Pierrepoint. The film premiered at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival and was released in the UK on 7 April 2006.
