Karol Dominik Przezdziecki
Karol Dominik Przeździecki (1782–1832) was a Polish count, born in Chornyi Ostriv. In 1806, he was the ruler of Smarhonʹ. During the French invasion of Russia in 1812, he first commanded the 21st Lithuanian Infantry Regiment until August, and then the 18th Lithuanian Lancer Regiment. In 1813, he was awarded the Legion of Honour. In 1816, he retired and lived in Smarhon, occupying himself with local industry. One of his occupations was breeding horses. He participated in the 1830–1831 November Uprising. After its suppression he escaped to Poznań Poznań () is a city on the River Warta in west-central Poland, within the Greater Poland region. Chornyi Ostriv ( uk, Чорний Острів; ) is an urban-type settlement in Khmelnytskyi Raion, Khmelnytskyi Oblast, western Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Chornyi Ostriv settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The town's population was 924 as of the 2001 Ukrainian Census and Chornyi Ostriv was first founded in 1366, and it received the Magdeburg rights in 1556. Since 1957, it has the status of an urban-type settlement. Smarhonʹ
Smarhon or Smorgon ( be, Смарго́нь, ; russian: Сморгонь; lt, Smurgainys; pl, Smorgonie; yi, סמאָרגאָן) is a city in the Grodno Region of Belarus. It was the site of Smarhon air base, now mostly abandoned. Smarhoń is located 107 km from the capital, Minsk. History Within the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Smarhon was part of Vilnius Voivodeship. In 1795, the town was acquired by the Russian Empire in the course of the Third Partition of Poland. Until the mid 19th century, Smarhon was a private property of the Radziwiłł family with most of its population being Jewish. From 1921 until 1939, Smarhon (''Smorgonie'') was part of the Second Polish Republic. In September 1939, the town was occupied by the Red Army and, on 14 November 1939, incorporated into the Byelorussian SSR. The November Uprising (1830–31), also known as the Polish–Russian War 1830–31 or the Cadet Revolution, was an armed rebellion in the heartland of partitioned Poland against the Russian Empire. The uprising began on 29 November 1830 in Warsaw when young Polish officers from the military academy of the Army of Congress Poland revolted, led by Lieutenant Piotr Wysocki.
