Andrew Karney
Andrew Karney, Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, FIET, Chartered Engineer, CEng, FRSA (born 24 May 1942) is a British electrical engineer, businessman and company director. He is also an accredited European Engineer. Career Karney studied engineering at Trinity College, Cambridge. He started his career working as a teacher for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Lebanon and Gaza City, Gaza in 1964 and 1965, when it was occupied by Egypt. He was honoured by the United Nations Secretary-General, U Thant in 1969. Karney worked as a development engineer at Standard Telephones and Cables on a small team headed by British engineer Tommy Flowers, who designed Colossus computer, Colossus, the world's first programmable electronic computer, used to break German wartime codes, particularly the Lorenz cipher. Michael John Mario Karney (born July 6, 1981) is a former American football player who was a fullback in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons. He played college football for Arizona State University. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the fifth round of the 2004 NFL Draft, and also played for the NFL's St. Louis Rams. He was raised in Kent, Washington and attended Kentwood High School in Covington, Washington and garnered varsity letters in football and baseball. Arthur Karney
Arthur Baillie Lumsdaine Karney (1874 – 8 December 1963) was the first bishop of Johannesburg in the Anglican Church of Southern Africa and the Church of England. Family Karney was one of 10 children of Gilbert Sparshott Karney, rector of Emmanuel Church, West Hampstead and Emma Sarah Storrs. He was educated at Windlesham House School, Brighton (1885–88), Haileybury and Trinity College, Cambridge, where he graduated BA in 1896. He married Georgina Maude Bessie Fielding in Buenos Aires in 1908 and they had seven children, Peter, Anthony (Tony), Audrey. George, Rosamund, Mary (Molly) and Grace. Benjamin Karney (born 1968) is an American professor of social psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles and an adjunct behavioral scientist at the Rand Corporation. His research is on interpersonal relationships and marriage, examining the effects of stress on marital processes, divorce rates in military marriages, intimate relationships among youth and young adults, and marriage in low-income populations. Shari Lynn Karney (born February 1, 1952) is an American attorney, incest-survivor activist, and former bar exam test preparation company owner. Discovering repressed incest While practicing as an attorney in 1983, Shari was asked by a mother to take on a child custody case where the mother thought her 3-year-old daughter was being sexually abused by her ex-husband. While she was questioning the ex-husband on the stand during cross-examination regarding the incest she began to scream and yell and lose control without understanding why. Robyn Karney
Robyn Karney (4 January 1940 – 7 December 2017) was a South African-born London-based film writer and critic. Karney was born in Cape Town, but raised in Johannesburg. A stage manager for the theatre companies of Brian Brooke and Leonard Schach, she emigrated to London in 1962. A former critic for the film magazine ''Empire'', Karney edited several books on film including the massive historical works ''Chronicle of the Cinema'' (1995) and ''Cinema Year by Year'' (2000), both for DK Publishing, and ''Who's Who in Hollywood'' (1993). Karney was also the author of biographies of Audrey Hepburn, Charlie Chaplin and Burt Lancaster. John "Jack" Karney (4 February 1895 – 1986) was an Australian rules footballer who played with West Torrens in the South Australian Football League (SAFL). Karney could play as either a centreman or rover and first appeared for West Torrens in 1919. He was their best and fairest winner in 1920 and 1921. In 1921 he performed well in the Magarey Medal count, finishing equal first but missing out after the umpires conferred to decide on just one winner. Pat Karney is a British Labour Party politician, councillor for Harpurhey in the City of Manchester. He was born in Dublin and raised in Harpurhey and has been a Labour councillor in the city since 1979. He is an Associate Executive Member with responsibility for the city centre. He was a Social Services manager for Salford City Council and was Chairman of the City Centre Committee when the IRA bomb devastated the centre. In 2012 the city centre was said to be "surviving the recession very well." but in 2014 it was said that under his leadership "as the Supremo of Central Manchester, the place has been declining for some time".
