After studying as a research assistant at the Universities of Karlsruhe and Bayreuth in the years 1982 to 1988, he was head of the security and environmental protection department of the GBFmbH in Braunschweig from 1989 to 1991. Wunsiedel (german: Landkreis Wunsiedel i. Fichtelgebirge) is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the northeastern part of Bavaria, Germany. The Landtag of Bavaria, officially known in English as the Bavarian State Parliament, is the unicameral legislature of the German state of Bavaria. The parliament meets in the Maximilianeum in Munich. Elections to the Landtag are held every five years and have to be conducted on a Sunday or public holiday.
