Karl-Heinz Kämmerling
Karl-Heinz Kämmerling (6 May 1930 – 14 June 2012) was a notable German academic teacher of classical pianists, who trained pianists at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover for careers as performers and academic teachers, particularly in the early training of highly gifted students. Career Kämmerling was born in Dessau and studied at the Hochschule für Musik Leipzig with Anton Rohden and Hugo Steurer. Besides teaching as a professor at the Mozarteum and in Hannover, he became a guest professor at the university of music in Zagreb in 2004 and taught master classes in Europe, the United States and Asia. Dessau
Dessau is a town and former municipality in Germany at the confluence of the rivers Mulde and Elbe, in the '' Bundesland'' (Federal State) of Saxony-Anhalt. Since 1 July 2007, it has been part of the newly created municipality of Dessau-Roßlau. Population of Dessau proper: 67,747 (Dec. 2020). Geography Dessau is situated on a floodplain where the Mulde flows into the Elbe. This causes yearly floods. Peter Ovtcharov
Peter Ovtcharov (born December 31, 1981, in Leningrad) is a Russian classical pianist and composer currently residing in Seoul, South Korea. He studied at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg with German teacher Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and won several prizes and awards, including the Second Prize at the International Vladimir Krainev Competition in Kharkiv, Ukraine (1992), Silver Medaille at the 3rd International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians (ex aequo with Korean pianist Son Yeol-Eum, 1997), the First Prize at the National Austrian competition "Gradus ad Parnassum" (2004), Silvio Bengalli Piano Prize (Italy, 2004) and the Third Prize at the International Beethoven Competition in Vienna (2005). Lars Vogt (8 September 1970 – 5 September 2022) was a German classical pianist, conductor and academic teacher. Noted by ''The New York Times'' for his interpretations of Brahms, Vogt performed as a soloist with major orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic. He was the music director of the Orchestre de chambre de Paris at the time of his death and also served as the music director of the Royal Northern Sinfonia. is a German classical pianist. Early life and education Alice was born in Munich, Germany, in 1988. Her Japanese mother had studied piano in Tokyo; her father was a German civil engineer. She says she realised as a child that "music was the language that goes much beyond any words" and that she wanted to communicate and express herself through music. Ott started piano lessons at the age of four. At age five she reached the final stage of the youth competition in Munich, playing to a full house in the Hercules Hall. Kristin Merscher (born in 1961) is a German classical pianist and professor at the Hochschule für Musik Saar in Saarbrücken, Germany. Yu Kosuge
(born 1983) is a Japanese classical pianist. Kosuge was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1983. At the age of four, she entered Tokyo University of the Arts, having been selected under a programme aimed at providing specialist education to gifted children. At the age of nine, she made her orchestral debut, playing with the Tokyo New City Orchestra. In 1993, she moved to Germany to study with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, and later with András Schiff. Márton Illés (born 12 December 1975 in Budapest), is a Hungarian composer and pianist. Illés received musical training in piano, composition and percussion in Győr from 1981 to 1994. In 1993 he spent one academical term at the conservatory of Zurich with pianist Hadassa Schwimmer.
