Gangtok is a city, municipality, the capital and the largest populated place of the Indian state of Sikkim. It is also the headquarters of the East Sikkim district, Gangtok District. Susan Egelstaff (born 12 October 1982; née Hughes) is a Scottish badminton player. Egelstaff won team bronze at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, took women's singles bronze four years later in Melbourne, and finished fourth in the singles in Delhi. In 2012, she competed for Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She failed to progress past the group stage, beating Maja Tvrdy but losing to the 12th seed Sayaka Sato in three games. Irish Open (badminton)
The Irish International or Irish Open in badminton is an international open held in Ireland since 1902 and is thereby one of the oldest badminton tournaments in the world. It was however interrupted by the two World Wars. This tournament is currently a part of the European Badminton Circuit and takes place at the end of November every year as part of the home nations loop of international tournaments that include the Scottish Open and the Welsh Open in consecutive weeks. The tournament for most part and in recent years has been an International Challenge rated event. The recent exception was in 2012, 2017 & 2018 when the tournament was downgraded to International Series due to funding. Recent editions have been held in the Baldoyle Badminton Centre except for 2007 and 2011 tournaments which were held in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Sashina Vignes Waran (born 3 August 1988) is a French badminton player. She won the French National Badminton Championships Women's singles title twice. (2014 & 2015).
