The Dutch International is an open international badminton tournament held in the Netherlands. The tournament annually held in Wateringen and organized by the VELO badminton since 2000. The Dutch International is a part of the European Badminton Circuit and graded as BWF International Series The BWF International Series is a grade 3 and level 2 tournament part of Continental Circuit of BWF tournaments along with International Challenge (level 1) and Future Series (level 3), sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF) since 2007. ... level. SV VELO
SV VELO (short for Sportvereniging Verdedig en Loop Op) is an omnisports club from Wateringen, Netherlands. It has branches for handball, badminton, volleyball, football, checkers, boules, road cycling, and martial arts. The first squad football plays in the Eerste Klasse. The badminton division is a leading badminton club in Europe. History SV VELO was founded on 14 July 1930 as a football club. In 1949, the handball branch was added. In 1960, martial arts was started, in 1966 badminton, in 1972 volleyball, and in 1974 road cycling. In 1991, a boules branch was founded. In 2014, VELO badminton became for the tenth time national champions in badminton. Juliane Schenk (born 26 November 1982) is a German badminton player. In March 2014 she retired from international play. Career In 2001, she won the European Junior Championships in women's singles. 2003 saw her win the women's doubles with Nicole Grether in two tournaments, the Irish International and the Bitburger Open. Brenda Beenhakker (born 18 February 1977) is a retired Dutch badminton player. She is the former European junior champion in the girls' singles event in 1995. She won Dutch National Championships for 8 times; 5 times in singles (1995, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000) and 3 times in doubles (2005 – with Karina de Wit, 2006 & 2007 – with Judith Meulendijks). Career Jonathans made her debut at the Olympics in the 2000 Sydney, reaching the quarter finals of the women's doubles with Nicole van Hooren. Jonathans made her second appearance at the Olympics in the 2004 Athens. She played in the women's doubles with partner Mia Audina.
