Karen Hills (footballer)
Karen Hills (born 5 May 1975) is an English football manager and former player who currently manages Charlton Athletic of the FA Women's Championship. Playing career After playing at primary school, Hills drifted away from football until she joined a leisure centre at 18 years old and was persuaded to play for Watford who scouted her at an informal "kickabout". She was deployed as a forward and scored a hat-trick on her debut, before moving back into midfield and eventually into defence. She later moved to Wembley Mill Hill, where she served as captain. In January 2000 Hills and Mill Hill team mate Laura Burns tested positive for cannabis in a random drug test carried out by The Football Association. Both received six-month suspensions. Hills joined top-flight Charlton Athletic for the 2001–02 FA Women's Premier League season. Manager (association Football)
In association football, the manager is the person who runs a football club or a national team. They have wide-ranging responsibilities, including selecting the team, choosing the tactics, recruiting and transferring players, negotiating player contracts, and speaking to the media. The role exists almost exclusively in the British Isles; in other regions its responsibilities are split between a head coach and a director of football. London Bees is an English women's football club affiliated with Barnet F.C. They play in the FA Women's National League South. The club has been in existence under several names since 1975, originally being called District Line Ladies F.C.. The team were re-branded as London Bees after joining the new WSL 2 for the 2014 season. The club have a first team and a youth academy; both train and play at the Hive Stadium. FA Women's Community Shield
The Women's FA Community Shield is an association football match in England. It is a national super cup, and the equivalent of the FA Community Shield in male football. It is the first competitive match of the football season. The match is competed between the champions of the FA Women's Super League and the winners of the Women's FA Cup. If the Super League champions also win the FA Cup, the Cup runners-up play the match. The first community shield match was played in 2000 and lasted until 2008. The competition was then revived in 2020. The Women's National League Cup is an annual English football cup competition, founded in 1991 by the Women's Football Association (WFA). It was renamed the FA Women's Premier League Cup from 1994 to 2018. The first edition of the Cup included clubs from the 1991–92 WFA National League Premier Division and the winners were the second-tier Arsenal, who beat Millwall 1–0 with a goal by Naz Ball. The Football Association assumed the running of the competition in 1994–95. Clubs from league levels 1 and 2 competed in the Women's Premier League Cup tournament annually until 2009–10, with Arsenal the most frequent winners, in ten seasons.
