''Lemonade Joe, or the Horse Opera'' ( cs, Limonádový Joe aneb Koňská opera) is a 1964 Czechoslovak musical comedy film, directed by Oldřich Lipský and written by Jiří Brdečka, based on his novel and stage play. A parody of the American Western, the film centers on a clean-living, soft-drink-selling gunfighter who takes on a town full of whiskey-swilling cowboys. The name of the eponymous hero is a pun, since the Czech word for a soft drink, ''limonáda'', can also be used figuratively in reference to a cheap, sentimental love-story. Plot In the frontier town of Stetson City, Arizona, in 1885, business is booming at the Trigger Whisky Saloon. ''Straw Hat'' ( cs, Slaměný klobouk) is a 1971 Czechoslovak comedy film written by Miloš Macourek and Oldřich Lipský, and directed by Lipský as well. It stars Miloš Kopecký in the leading role. The film is based on the 1851 play '' The Italian Straw Hat'' by Eugène Labiche and Marc-Michel. Summary Fadinard is on the way to his wedding, when his horse picks up and eats a straw hat. The owner of the hat is a married woman who, at the time, is in the embrace of a French officer, Lieutenant Tavernier. The officer follows Fadinard to his home and demands that he replace the hat, so that his mistress can return home to her husband without arousing suspicion. Fearing that Tavernier will wreck his new apartment, Fadinard hastens to his wedding, using every opportunity he can to find a replacement hat. ''Na kometě'' (literally ''On the Comet'') is a 1970 Czech film directed by Karel Zeman, based on Jules Verne's novel ''Off on a Comet''. The film is a combination of animated and live action film. Animation is based on illustrations for Verne's novels. The story is presented in grotesque way, especially conflicts between British and French soldiers.
