Amar Kanwar was born in New Delhi in 1964 where he continues to live and work as a filmmaker. Kanwar studied at the Department of History, Ramjas College, Delhi University (1982-1985), and at the Mass Communication Research Center, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi (1985–87). After making a few films, Kanwar joined the People's Science Institute in 1988 as a researcher on occupational health and safety in the coal-mining belt of Madhya Pradesh in central India. He returned to filmmaking in 1990, and his films were then shown primarily in public campaigns, community spaces and film festivals in India and across the world. Kanwar's filmmaking practice challenges the limits of the medium in order to create complex narratives traversing several terrains such as labour and indigenous rights, gender, religious fundamentalism and ecology. Anita Kanwar
Anita Kanwar is an Indian film and television actor who is best known for her role as ''Lajjo ji'' in the 1980s Doordarshan mega soap opera ''Buniyaad''. An alumnus of the National School of Drama (1978 batch), Kanwar has also worked in films such as Mahesh Bhatt's '' Janam'' (1985), Mira Nair's ''Salaam Bombay!'' (1988), for which she was nominated for a Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award and ''Thodasa Roomani Ho Jaayen''. In the 1990s, Kanwar took a long break from television and films before returning to play the character of Inspector KC, Chief of Homicide in the 1998 Star Plus crime series ''Saboot''. Indira Kanwar ( 1696 – 1763) was the second wife of Emperor Farrukhsiyar. The marriage of Indira Kanwar to Farrukhsiyar made him the last Mughal sovereign to marry a Rajput princess. Raj Kanwar (28 June 1961 – 3 February 2012) was an Indian film director, writer and film producer of Hindi films based in Mumbai, India. Family and personal life He was educated in Col. Dr. Ranbir Singh Kanwar (20 December 1930 – 20 December 2005) was an eminent plant breeder and agronomist who helped usher in the green revolution in India (http://www.sugarcaneindia.com/r_s_kanwar.html). He obtained his Ph.D. from Ohio State University, Columbus under a joint Indo-US development program. His major contribution was in the area of breeding sugarcane varieties which yielded higher sugar and were early maturing. Sarul Kanwar (born 8 November 1987), is an Indian cricketer. An attacking opening batsman from Punjab, he has 2 first-class centuries for Punjab in the last two Ranji Trophy seasons. Lieutenant-General Kanwar Bahadur Singh, MBE, (5 August 1910 – 8 May 2007) was a senior officer in the Indian Army. Early life and education Bahadur Singh was born in the Thikana of Palaitha in the princely state of Kotah on 5 August 1910, the son of Major-General Sir Onkar Singh, KCIE, a minister for the state of Kotah. He attended the Prince of Wales Royal Indian Military College (RIMC) from August 1923 to 26 August 1929. Kanwar or Kawar (meaning "crown prince") is a surname of Rajputana, Nepalese and Indian individuals who are members of the Rajput and Jat caste. Kunwar Family
The Kunwar family ( ne, कुँवर परिवार) was a noble Khas-Chhetri family in the Gorkha Kingdom and the Kingdom of Nepal. Kunwars were linked to the Thapa dynasty and family of Amar Singh Thapa by marital lineages and, thus, to Pande dynasty through the Thapa dynasty. Three branches of the Kunwars; Ramakrishna, Jayakrishna and Amar Singh Kunwar were formed with opposite political aspirations. Bal Narsingh Kunwar (of Ramkrishna section) supported ''Mukhtiyar'' Bhimsen Thapa while Chandrabir Kunwar (of Jayakrishna section) supported ''Bada Kaji'' Amar Singh Thapa due to their marital relations with those families.
