Kanmani (film)
''Kanmani'' () is a 1994 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film, directed by R. K. Selvamani. The film stars Prashanth and Mohini, while Sujatha, Lakshmi and Jaishankar play supporting roles. Plot Prashanth joins S.R.M. Engineering College where he is teased and taunted by the college rowdies, led by Mohini who, among other things, has a video camera in the ladies room to watch women who bathe there!! After a few confrontations Prashanth shows her who's the boss. Meanwhile, Prashanth's sister Lakshmi is a famous criminal lawyer nursing a sad past and wanting revenge against Sujatha, a police officer and her husband Jai Shanker, a judge. She even supports smugglers and represent them in court just to spite Sujatha. One such client of hers is Mansur Ali Khan who is a liquor baron running a medical college (No prizes for guessing who its modeled on). Prashanth
Prashanth Thiagarajan (born 6 April 1973), known professionally as Prashanth, is an Indian actor and businessman, known for his works predominantly in Tamil cinema. Besides Tamil films, he has also appeared in few Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam films. At the peak of his career in the late 1990s, Prashanth was one of the popular actors in South India. He has won a Kalaimamani Award from the Government of Tamil Nadu. Malaysia Vasudevan
Vasudevan (15 June 1944 – 20 February 2011), known as Malaysia Vasudevan, was a Malaysian-Indian playback singer and actor in Tamil cinema. Early life Malaysia Vasudevan's parents were from Palakkad. Chattu Nair of Ottappalam and Ammalu of Polpulli, along with their families migrated to British Malaya in search of a livelihood. After a few years, Chattu Nair married Ammalu in an arranged marriage. Vasudevan was born on 15 June 1944 as their eighth and youngest child. Even though he was a Malayali, as was the case with the majority of contemporary South Indian migrants to Malaya then, his surroundings in Malaysia was dominated by the Tamil language and culture. Minmini (born P. J. Rosily) is a South Indian film playback singer. She is best remembered for the song "Chinna Chinna Aasai" from '' Roja'', the debut work of film composer A. R. Rahman, which was dubbed in Hindi as "Choti Si Asha". Most of her songs are in Tamil, most of them composed by Ilaiyaraaja and A. R. Rahman. Her Malayalam songs include "Souparnikamritha" from ''Kizhakkunarum Pakshi'', "Oonjal Urangi", and "Neelaraavi" from ''Kudumbasametham''. Pulavar Pulamaipithan (6 October 1935 – 8 September 2021) was an Indian scholar, poet and lyricist who got recognition through the song "Naan yaar nee yaar" which was featured in the Tamil film ''Kudiyirundha Koyil'' in 1968. He briefly served as the presidium chairman of AIADMK from 2002 to 2003, when he resigned citing ill-health. Biography Pulamaipithan was born in Irugur, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on 6 October 1935. At the early age Pulavar used to work in textile mill known as Combodia mills in Coimbatore and also studied his Tamil literature in Tava Tiru Shanthalinga Adigalar Perur Tamil Kaluri Coimbatore.
