Kandachipuram
Kandachipuram is a village in the Kandachipuram taluk of Viluppuram district, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the headquarters of its namesake taluk, but was previously in Tirukkoyilur taluk, when that taluk and the entirety of Kallakurichi district were still part of Villupuram district. Geography Kandachipuram covers of land in the northern part of the taluk, which is in the southwestern part of the district. It is located northeast of Tirukoilur, the headquarters of the taluk which it used to be within, northwest of Viluppuram, the district headquarters, and southwest of the state capital of Chennai. The village is at the intersection of National Highway 38 and State Highway 211. Kandachipuram Taluk
Kandachipuram taluk is one of the 9 taluks of Viluppuram district, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Administration Kandachipuram taluk is within Villupuram district, one of the 38 districts of Tamil Nadu. The taluk was created at some point between 2011 and 2019, when its area was split off from Tirukkoyilur taluk, as that taluk was still part of Viluppuram district prior to 2019. Following the 2019 bifurcation of Viluppuram district which created Kallakurichi district, the taluk's southern border was altered, as that border became part of the border between the two districts. This alteration included a change which resulted in the town panchayat of Arakandanallur becoming part of Kandachipuram taluk. The headquarters of the taluk is its namesake, the town of Kandachipuram, which is in the northern part of the taluk. The taluk is part of the Viluppuram revenue division of Viluppuram district. Viluppuram District
Viluppuram, Villupuram or Vizhuppuram is one of the 38 districts that make up the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It was founded on 30 September 1993, prior to which it was part of the Cuddalore district. Vizhuppuram district lies in the way of the national highway connecting Tiruchirappalli and Chennai, and contains historical landmarks like the 500 year-old Gingee Fort. __TOC__ History Vizhuppuram district was once a part of the South Arcot district along with the Cuddalore district. Kallakurichi District
Kallakurichi is one of the 38 districts in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. The district headquarter is Kallakurichi. Kallakurichi District was announced on 8 January 2019 and it came into existence on 26 November 2019. History During Ancient times, the region was under the rules of Cholas, Pallavas and various Local Chieftains like Tirukoilur king Malaiyaman.
