Kanaka is a former Indian actress. Personal life Kanaka is the daughter of Tamil actress Devika. She is also the great-granddaughter of Telugu cinema's first sound film's producer Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu. Career She started her career as a heroine in the Tamil movie ''Karakattakkaran, Karagatakaran'', directed by Gangai Amaran, a blockbuster movie which ran more than a year. Kanaka acted in many Tamil movies, including ''Periya Veetu Pannakkaran'' (1990), ''Athisaya Piravi'' (1990), ''Samundi'' (1992), ''Periya Kudumbam'' (1995) and ''Viralukketha Veekkam'' (1999). She also starred in a few Telugu language, Telugu and Malayalam movies with major stars like Mukesh (actor), Mukesh, Mammootty and Mohanlal. She has acted in more than 50 films in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu in a span of 10 years. Her last Tamil film was ''Sillunu Oru Kaadhal'' (2006). Filmography References External links

Devika Devadoss (born Prameela Devi) (25 April 1943 – 2 May 2002) was an Indian actress who worked in Tamil, Telugu with few Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi film industry. She was a popular lead actress in the 1960s. Devika is the grand daughter of Telugu cinema doyen and pioneer Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu. One of her uncles was a Mayor of Chennai. Actress Kanaka is her daughter. Film career In Tamil, she has acted with all major heroes of the day. In ''Mudhalali'', an AVM film, in which she made her debut, she paired with S. S. Rajendran. Mukesh Madhavan (born 5 March 1957), known mononymously as Mukesh, is an Indian actor, film producer, television presenter, and politician who predominantly works in Malayalam cinema besides also having sporadically appeared in Tamil-language films. ''Karakattakkaran'' () is a 1989 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy dance film written and directed by Gangai Amaran. The film stars Ramarajan and debutant Kanaka, while Santhana Bharathi, Chandrasekhar, Goundamani, Senthil, Shanmugasundaram, Raja Bahadur, Ganthimathi and Kovai Sarala play supporting roles.
