Kamui Kobayashi
is a Japanese professional racing driver who competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Toyota Gazoo Racing (GR) and in the Super Formula Championship for KCMG . He previously competed in Formula One, Formula E, the GP2 Series, and the GP2 Asia Series (which he won). Kobayashi is the 2019–20 World Endurance champion along with his team-mates Mike Conway and José María López. He is the Third FIA world champion from Japan after Toshi Arai and Kazuki Nakajima. He won the 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans driving for Toyota Gazoo Racing. Racing career Early career Kobayashi was born in Amagasaki, near Kobe. His father owns a sushi restaurant. KC Motorgroup
KC Motorgroup Ltd, known as KCMG, is an auto racing team based in Hong Kong. Founded by former racing driver Paul Ip in 2007, KCMG has participated in a variety of championships across the world in touring car, sports car, and open-wheel racing. Super Formula Championship
The Japanese Super Formula Championship is a formula racing series. It is considered as being the top level of single-seater racing in Japan and regional motorsports in Asia. The series is sanctioned by the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) and managed by Japan Race Promotion (JRP). The first Japanese Top Formula championship was held in 1973 as the All-Japan Formula 2000 Championship. 2008–09 GP2 Asia Series
The 2008–09 GP2 Asia Series season was the second season of the GP2 Asia Series. It began on 18 October 2008 and ended on 26 April 2009 and consisted of twelve races at six events. Season summary All teams from the 2008 GP2 Series season except for Racing Engineering took part in the competition, with the thirteenth slot being filled by Qi-Meritus Mahara. The reigning champion Romain Grosjean did not defend his title. GP2 Asia Series
The GP2 Asia Series was a form of open wheel motor racing as a result of a spin-off from the GP2 series. The series was officially announced during the weekend of the 2007 Monaco Grand Prix. GP2 series organiser Bruno Michel commented that "It is of great importance that the GP2 Asia Series maintains a strong and viable link to Formula One. Our inclusion as the support races on the programme of Asian Grands Prix in 2008 is an essential key in this new venture". The first season ran during the main GP2 series off season, January–April, with five two-race meetings. It ran alongside the new Speedcar Series, and the events in Malaysia and Bahrain acted as support races for the Formula One championship. 2004 Formula Renault 2000 Germany Season
The 2004 Formula Renault 2000 Germany season was the thirteenth Formula Renault 2000 Germany season. The season began at Oschersleben on 8 May and finished on 9 October at the same venue, after fourteen races. Motopark Oschersleben driver Scott Speed won four races on his way to championship title. His compatriot Colin Fleming of the Jenzer Motorsport won races at Salzburgring and Lausitz. Michael Ammermüller completed the top 3 without winning a race. The same number of wins as the champion had Pascal Kochem, who finished fourth. Other wins were shared between Frank Kechele, Reinhard Kofler and Pekka Saarinen, who finished sixth, seventh and eighth respectively. 2007 Formula 3 Euro Series
The 2007 Formula 3 Euro Series season was the fifth championship year of Europe’s premier Formula Three series. As in previous years, the championships took place over ten rounds – each with two races – held at a variety of European circuits. Each weekend consisted of one 60-minute practice session and one qualifying session, followed by one c.110 km race and one c.80 km race. The single qualifying session was retained from 2006, with the starting order for race 2 being determined by the finishing order of race 1, with the top eight positions reversed. This season was notable for the return of Volkswagen as an F3 engine supplier. The drivers' title was won by Romain Grosjean and the teams' title was again won by ASM Formule 3. The 2006 Formula 3 Euro Series season was the fourth championship year of Europe’s premier Formula Three series. As in previous years, there were ten rounds – each with two races – held at a variety of European circuits.
