Kamel Mennour
Kamel Mennour (born October 1965) is an Algerian-born French art dealer, owner of Galerie Kamel Mennour in Paris. Founded in 1999, Galerie Kamel Mennour opened its third exhibition space in Paris in 2015. In 2016, he was included in Artnet's list of "Europe's 10 Most Respected Art Dealers". Galerie Kamel Mennour is a contemporary art gallery in Paris, France, owned and directed by Kamel Mennour. History The first space, 50sqm, was inaugurated on Rue Mazarine in 1999. Dedicated to contemporary photography, the gallery showed works of international artists, little known in France, like Larry Clark, Stephen Shore or Nobuyoshi Araki, alongside more established artists such as Pierre Molinier. Meanwhile, the gallery began to publish catalogs, accompanying these exhibitions. Today more than forty catalogs have been published by Kamel Mennour Editions. Brook Street is an axial street in the exclusive central London district of Mayfair. Most of it is leasehold, paying ground rent to and seeking lease renewals from the reversioner, that since before 1800, has been the Grosvenor Estate. Claridge's is a 5-star hotel at the corner of Brook Street and Davies Street in Mayfair, London. It has long-standing connections with royalty that have led to it sometimes being referred to as an "annexe to Buckingham Palace". Claridge's Hotel is owned and managed by Maybourne Hotel Group. History Founding Claridge's was founded in 1812 as Mivart's Hotel, in a conventional London terraced house, and it grew by expanding into neighbouring houses. In 1854, the founder (the father of biologist St. George Jackson Mivart) sold the hotel to a Mr and Mrs Claridge, who owned a smaller hotel next door. They combined the two operations, and after trading for a time as "Mivart's late Claridge's", they settled on the current name.
