Kalle Katajisto
Kalle Katajisto (born 24 April 1991) is a Finnish former motorcycle speedway rider. Career Katajisto was a member of the Finnish national team. He rode in the British leagues when he signed for Edinburgh Monarchs in 2007. He stayed with the Scottish club for four seasons leaving after the 2014 season. However, he was to return to Britain in 2013 and 2014 riding for the Plymouth Devils. In 2009, he won the bronze medal at the Finnish Individual Speedway Championship. Edinburgh Monarchs
The Edinburgh Monarchs are a Scottish Speedway team, currently based in Armadale. They compete in the SGB Championship, racing on Friday nights during the Speedway season. The club is run by a board of directors, chaired by Alex Harkess. The club also runs a National Development League team called the Armadale Devils. History The club was founded in 1928 and operated at Marine Gardens, Portobello in 1929, 1930, 1931, 1938 and 1939. A few team matches were staged in 1929 and an Edinburgh team competed in the Northern League in 1930. The 2007 Premier League speedway season was the second division of speedway in the United Kingdom and governed by the Speedway Control Bureau (SCB), in conjunction with the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA). Season summary The League consisted of 15 teams for the 2007 season with the addition of the Birmingham Brummies from the 2006 season. The top four teams at the time of the fixture cut-off date to compete for the championship in the play-offs. Premier League (speedway)
The Premier League was the second tier of Motorcycle speedway, speedway in the United Kingdom (with the exception of the 1995 and 1996 seasons) and governed by The Speedway Control Bureau (SCB), in conjunction with the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA). The Premier League was founded in 1995 when the two divisions of the British League were amalgamated. In 1997, the Elite League (speedway), Elite League was created as a new top tier with the Premier League becoming the second tier. The league operated until 2016 when British speedway was restructured with the formation of the SGB Premiership and SGB Championship. As of 2016, there were 13 teams competing in this tier of British Speedway, contesting 6 competitions for silverware. The 2009 Team Speedway Junior European Championship will be the 2nd UEM Team Speedway Junior European Championship season. The Final will be held on August 23, 2009 in Holsted, Denmark. The championship was won by Poland (40 points), who they beat defending champion Sweden (38 points), host team Denmark (26 points) and Czech Republic (15 points) Results In the Final will be the defending Champions Sweden, host team Denmark (3rd place in 2008 Final) and Poland (4th place).
