Kakamega High School
Kakamega School, formerly known as Government African School Kakamega and Kakamega High School, is a four-year high school in Kakamega, Western Kenya, founded in 1932. Mr. Harold Arthur Waterloo Chapman, a graduate of University of Oxford, was made the school principal in August 1931 before its completion and commissioning. He served as the school principal until 1955 when he retired. He later died on the 25 January 1988. Chapman left a permanent mark in Kakamega school where his name was synonymous with the school. A hostel located to the SOWETO side of the boarding section was named after him, and is one of the most popular hostels housing both junior and senior students. To this date, the school is referred to as Chapman's land as mentioned in the school anthem. Kakamega
Kakamega is a town in western Kenya lying about 30 km north of the Equator. It is the headquarters of Kakamega County that has a population of 1,867,579 (2019 census). Kakamega is 52 km north of Kisumu, the tenth largest city in Kenya and considered the heart of Luhya land. The average elevation of Kakamega is 1,535 metres. The county has 12 constituencies in total, namely Butere, Mumias East,Mumias West, Matungu, Khwisero, Shinyalu, Lurambi, ikolomani, Lugari, Malava, Navakholo and Likuyani. Newton Kulundu
Newton Kulundu (June 30, 1948 – March 7, 2010) was a Kenyan politician. He was the Minister of Labour and Human Resource Development in the Ministry of Labour (2006–2008), and a Member of Parliament in Lurambi Constituency (2002–2007). Noah Wekesa
Noah Mahalang’ang’a Wekesa (born 21 August 1936) is a Kenyan politician. He is affilaited to the Party of National Unity and was elected 1988, 2000, 2002 and in the 2007 Kenyan general election to represent the Kwanza Constituency of the National Assembly of Kenya. He lost the seat to Ferdinand Wanyonyi in March 2013. Wekesa was Assistant Minister at Agriculture and Livestock Development from 1988–1992 and May 2004 as Assistant Minister for Livestock and Fisheries. Dennis Oguta Oliech (; born 2 February 1985) is a Kenyan retired professional footballer who played as a striker. As a member of the Kenya national team, he became his nation's second all-time goalscorer, behind William "Chege" Ouma (35 goals), with 34 goals before retiring from international football in 2016. Kenneth Otiato Marende, born 7 January 1956, was the Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya's 10th Parliament. He was elected Speaker on January 15, 2008. Prior to his election as Speaker, Hon. Marende served as the MP for Emuhaya constituency, from 2002 to 2007.
