Kaito Kid
, the true identity of the gentleman thief , is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the ''Magic Kaito'' manga series created by Gosho Aoyama. His father Toichi Kuroba was the original Kaito Kid before being killed by an unknown organization, while his mother was a former phantom thief known as the Phantom Lady. Kaito Kuroba then takes on the role of Kid after learning the organization is after a gemstone called Pandora and decides to find and destroy it. Kaito Kuroba has also made significant appearances in Aoyama's ''Case Closed'' series. His strong resemblance to the protagonist of this series, Shinichi Kudo, allows Kaito to impersonate him without a mask. He is also voiced by the same voice actors as Shinichi. When ''Case Closed'' was localized into English, Viz Media chose the rōmaji Kaito Kid for the manga, while Funimation Entertainment and Discotek Media refer to him as Phantom Thief Kid/Kid the Phantom Thief, respectively, in the anime. Magic Kaito
is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gosho Aoyama. It began in Shogakukan's ''Weekly Shōnen Sunday'' in June 1987. The story tells of a phantom thief named Kaito Kid. Aoyama put the manga on hiatus after the first two ''tankōbon'' volumes were published in 1988, and only occasionally draws new chapters; the third volume was published in 1994, the fourth in 2007, and the fifth in 2017. Kaito Kid and other characters from ''Magic Kaito'' make occasional appearances in '' Case Closed'', another manga series by Aoyama that has also been adapted into an anime. 12 animated television specials based on the series have been produced by TMS Entertainment and aired between 2010 and 2012. The film brought a box office income of 2.8 billion yen. Plot A stage actress, Julie wants to use her star sapphire for her upcoming play and asks for Mouri Kogoro help to protect it after showing Kogoro a letter from the Kaito Kid. On the day of the theft, Kid appears at the theatre disguised up as Shinichi Kudo but ends up fleeing in the end without the jewel. To thank them, Julie invites Kogoro and everyone to Hakodate, and they all travel on an airplane to get there. In the air, one of the show actor, Shinjo, who was supposed to be elsewhere and Ran's mother, Eri, joins them on the plane. As the plane takes off, Julie comes in physical contact with most of the individuals she invited, making them all suspects in the case of her death. ''Case Closed: The Last Wizard of the Century'', known as in Japan, is a Japanese animated feature film based on the ''Case Closed'' series. It was released in Japanese theatres on April 17, 1999. FUNimation Entertainment acquired the rights to this film from TMS Entertainment on July 17, 2009 and released the dub in December 2009. This is the first film appearance of Vi Graythorn (Ai Haibara), Phantom Thief Kid (Kaitou Kid) and Harley Hartwell (Heiji Hattori). Plot The Phantom Thief Kid sends a heist notice, warning of another heist. The police deduce that his next target is a recently discovered Fabergé egg, which Suzuki Modern Art Museum in Osaka will display on August 22. Twenty-five feature films have been released based on the manga and anime series , known as ''Case Closed'' in North America. Conan Edogawa
, known in some major English adaptations as Jimmy Kudo, is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the manga series ''Case Closed'', created by Gosho Aoyama. A high school detective, he is forced to ingest the lethal poison after an encounter with Gin and Vodka, agents of the mysterious Black Organization, while they were having a secret deal in an amusement park.
