Kaddisfly is an American rock band based in Portland, Oregon, formed in 2001. The band was signed to Hopeless Records\Sub City Records from 2005 to 2008 and issued three releases on the label family. The group took a hiatus from 2008 to 2013, and after reuniting released music under the label intheclouds Records. History The band formed in 2001 by former students at Winston Churchill High School and Mountain View High School in Eugene Oregon, the same place where Rock N Roll Soldiers and Tracy Bonham have started their music career, taking their name from a small insect, the caddisfly. After several independent releases, the band signed to Hopeless Records in 2004 and released ''Buy Our Intention; We'll Buy You a Unicorn'' through the label on March 8, 2005. ''Did You Know People Can Fly?'' is the first full-length album by Kaddisfly. It was released in 2003 under a self-titled independent record label. In interviews about the album, the group's musicians commented that they were trying to a new style to stay fresh and differentiate themselves from their prior works. Aaron Tollefson, a musician who played guitar on the album, commented about the writing of the music, "when it came to writing this record, we wanted to wipe away everything people knew of us and resurface with a composition that couldn't be boxed, labeled, or formulaically packaged." Hopeless Records is an American independent record label in Van Nuys, California. History Hopeless Records was founded in 1993 by Louis Posen. The label's artists are generally considered to fall under the genres of punk rock, pop punk, post-hardcore, and alternative rock, but some also include elements of heavy metal. Some of their best-known artists include All Time Low, Sum 41, Neck Deep, Avenged Sevenfold, Thrice, Yellowcard, Anarbor, Taking Back Sunday, Silverstein, We Are the In Crowd, Bayside, the Used, the Wonder Years, the Human Abstract and Enter Shikari. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is an American rock band that was formed in Middleburg, Florida, in 2003. The band has released five studio albums to date. The current members are Ronnie Winter (lead vocals), Joey Westwood (bass), Josh Burke (lead guitar), Randy Winter (rhythm guitar), Daniel Resnick (keys) and John Espy (drums). Take Action Tour
The Take Action Tour is an annual spring tour that not only hosts several bands, but also tries to get people alerted about the issues with teen suicide, and ultimately tries to prevent it. The tour was created by both Sub City and Hopeless Records. A portion of the ticket sales and compilation CD sales are donated to the cause. In recent years, the tour has chosen bands that have fans more of the demographic age group. In 2011, Sub City Records announced a new beneficiary Sex, Etc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising teen awareness of sexually transmitted diseases and the benefits of safe sex.
