Kadambur Raju
Kadambur C. Raju (born 20 Aug 1959) is an Indian politician and the member of Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from the Kovilpatti (state assembly constituency), Kovilpatti constituency. He represents the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party. Raju won the Kovilpatti seat in the Fourteenth Assembly of Tamil Nadu, 14th Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in the 2011 Tamil Nadu state assembly election, 2011 elections. He was initially deselected from contesting the seat in the 2016 Tamil Nadu state assembly election, 2016 elections, with then AIADMK General Secretary J. Jayalalithaa preferring to let K. Ramanujam Ganesh stand. However, when it was understood that the experienced Vaiko was to stand there for the People's Welfare Front, Jayalalithaa chose to reinstate Raju because he was a more potent electoral force than Ganesh. Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly
The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly is the unicameral legislature of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It has a strength of 234 members of whom are democratically elected using the First-past-the-post voting, First-past-the-post system. The presiding officer of the Assembly is the List of Speakers of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Speaker. The term of the Assembly is five years unless dissolved earlier. Since Tamil Nadu has a unicameral legislature, the terms Tamil Nadu Legislature and Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly are almost synonymous and are often confused. Vaiyapuri Gopalsamy, better known as Vaiko, is an Indian politician. He is a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament of India from Tamil Nadu. He is the founder and General Secretary of the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), a political party active mainly in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. He was earlier elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India from Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu. Birth Vaiko was born in Kalingapatty near Sankarankovil, Madras Presidency. Sarathkumar Ramanathan (born 14 July 1954) is an Indian actor, politician, filmmaker, and singer. He has acted in more than 130 Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films.
