KVNU
KVNU (610 AM) is a broadcast radio station in the United States. Licensed to Logan, Utah, KVNU is owned by the Cache Valley Media Group and has a news/talk format serving the Logan metropolitan area. The station first signed on in 1938 and was owned by the family of Herschel Bullen until 1996. History The Cache Valley Broadcasting Company, led by S.L. Billings and other Salt Lake City entrepreneurs, founded KVNU in 1938, and the station first broadcast on November 20 that year. Shortly afterwards, Herschel Bullen and his son Reed became stockholders of KVNU's parent company. By 1945, the Bullens had become majority owners of the Cache Valley Broadcasting Company, with Herschel leading the company and Reed moving up from station general manager to company general manager to company director. Logan is a city in Cache County, Utah, United States. The 2020 census recorded the population was 52,778. Logan is the county seat of Cache County and the principal city of the Logan metropolitan area, which includes Cache County and Franklin County, Idaho. The Logan metropolitan area contained 125,442 people as of the 2010 census and was declared by Morgan Quitno in 2005 and 2007 to be the safest in the United States in those years. Logan also is the location of the main campus of Utah State University. History The town of Logan was founded in 1859 by settlers sent by Brigham Young to survey for the site of a fort near the banks of the Logan River. Reed Bullen
Reed Bullen (November 17, 1906 – October 12, 2005) was a Utah broadcaster, politician and a local leader in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Bullen was born and died in Logan, Utah. His father was Herschel Bullen. In 1929 Reed Bullen graduated from what would later be Utah State University with a degree in business. He brought KVNU to Logan in 1938 and later the cable network North Utah Community TV. In 1985 he was inducted into the Utah Broadcasters Hall of Fame. In the LDS Church Bullen served as a bishop, stake president, patriarch and from 1978 to 1984 as president of the Logan Utah Temple. KVFX (94.5 FM), also known as ''VFX'', is a Top 40 (CHR) radio station broadcasting in the Logan- Salt Lake City- Ogden, Utah metropolitan area. It is owned by the Sun Valley Radio, Inc. KGNT (103.9 FM) is a classic hits formatted radio station licensed to Smithfield, Utah and owned by Frandsen Media Company, LLC. The station features programming from CBS News Radio and Westwood One.
