KVIP and KVIP-FM are Christian radio stations in Redding, California, United States, broadcasting at 540 kHz on the AM band and 98.1 MHz on the FM band. The FM station's programming is also carried on a regional network of transmitters and translators in far northern California and southern Oregon, including three high-power stations: KNDZ (89.3 MHz) in McKinleyville, California, covering Eureka; KMWR (90.7 MHz) in Brookings, Oregon; and KGRV (700 kHz), an AM station serving Roseburg, Oregon, that generates its own funding. KRDG (AM)
KRDG (1330 AM) was a radio station in Redding, California, United States. It was last owned by Prather-Breck Broadcasting of California and broadcast from 1958 to 1994. It broadcast primarily country music over the course of history, though its last format was contemporary Christian music. History C.E. Wilson and Philip D. Jackson, doing business as Independent Broadcasters, were granted a construction permit by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on June 6, 1957, for a new 1,000-watt, daytime-only radio station to serve Redding. Wilson sold his interest to his partner before launch, and Jackson built and started KPAP, which began broadcasting June 3, 1958, as the town's fourth radio station, with a format consisting of pop and country music. Jackson owned the station scarcely a month before filing to sell it to High Fidelity Stations, Inc., which in turn was granted a move to 1330 kHz and a power increase to 5,000 watts in 1960. KVIQ-LD (channel 14) is a low-power television station in Eureka, California, United States, affiliated with CBS. It is owned by Imagicomm Communications alongside NBC affiliate KIEM-TV (channel 3). Both stations share studios on South Broadway in Spruce Point near the southwestern corner of Eureka, while KVIQ-LD's transmitter is located along Barry Road southeast of the city. Until 2017, KVIQ operated as a full-power television station on digital channel 17. The FM Non-Duplication Rule was adopted by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on July 1, 1964, after a year's consideration. Nubieber (formerly, Big Valley City and New Town) is a census-designated place in Lassen County, California. It was located at the common terminus of the Western Pacific Railroad and the Great Northern Railway Bieber Line southwest of Bieber, at an elevation of 4121 feet (1256 m). Its population is 19 as of the 2020 census, down from 50 from the 2010 census. The settlement was established in 1931, when the railroads were built to the place.
