KTKK (630 AM) was a news/talk radio station broadcasting out of Sandy, Utah, to the Salt Lake City area. Called, "K-Talk 630", it was locally owned by United Broadcasting Company. The station featured local talk, including women's interest, political and other subjects live for over 18 hours every day. In April 2017, the station began simulcasting on 1640 KBJA, also licensed to Sandy, just prior to a switch to exclusively broadcasting on 1640 full-time on May 1, 2017. KBJA
The radio tower for KBJA, shared with KKAT (AM) Previous logo with the Spanish format KBJA (1640 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Sandy, Utah, and serving the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. The station is owned by United Broadcasting Company. KBJA broadcasts a talk radio format. Much of its schedule is paid brokered programming where the host buys time on the station and can sell advertising to support the show. KBJA's programming had once been heard on AM 630 KTKK "K-Talk" until that co-owned station ceased broadcasting and its programming was shifted over to AM 1640. KBJA's studios and offices are on South Redwood Road in South Jordan. The transmitter is off West 2590 South, near West Derby Street, in West Valley City. KLLB
KLLB (1510 AM) was a Christian/Gospel formatted radio station licensed to West Jordan, Utah. The station served the Salt Lake City area. The station was owned by United Security Financial, Inc. The KLLB tower in West Jordan, Utah. The station signed off air every night, usually at or around local sunset. Other stations such as KGA from Spokane, Washington could be heard in its place. Because KGA was a Class A station until 2008, KLLB had to sign off at night to protect KGA's skywave service area from interference. Since the station's tower was constructed in the 1980s, a housing development had been built around the tower and ultimately a street will replace the land where the tower now stands. The station had applied for a construction permit to move its tower farther west near Utah State Route 111. This application has since been dismissed. Herb Jepko
Herb Jepko (March 20, 1931 - March 31, 1995) was an influential radio talk show host in Salt Lake City from 1964 to 1990. He was the first radio talk show host to do a nationally syndicated, satellite-delivered program. Early years According to the Arizona Department of Health Services, Herb Jepko was born in Hayden, Colorado to a single mother named Mary Irene Parke. He was originally named William, but when he was adopted by Metro and Nellie Jepko of Prescott, Arizona, they renamed him Herbert Earl Jepko. Metro and Nellie's marriage was not a happy one. After they divorced, Metro got custody, but he was a wounded World War I veteran, and he soon took ill. With his father unable to care for him, Herb had to spend time in foster care off and on. He attended school in Prescott, but then his father got healthy enough to take care of him again, and in 1949, they moved to Phoenix. Donovan Phillips Leitch (born 10 May 1946), known mononymously as Donovan, is a Scottish musician, songwriter, and record producer. He developed an eclectic and distinctive style that blended folk, jazz, pop, psychedelic rock and world music (notably calypso).
