KNVB Women's Cup
The KNVB Women's Cup ( nl, KNVB Beker voor Vrouwen) is the cup competition for women's football in the Netherlands. The competition was established in 1980, along with the KNVB Amateur Cup. From the 2007-08 season onwards, the first round of the cup is a group stage for clubs in the ''Hoofdklasse'' and the ''Eerste Klasse''. SV Saestum
SV Saestum is a sports club from Zeist, Netherlands. It is most known for its successful women's football team. History The club was founded on 6 January 1926. The women's football section opened in 1981. Since the founding of the Hoofdklasse, Saestum plays in the league, which was the highest national league in the Netherlands until the creation of the Eredivisie in 2007. In 1996 the team won its first national championship, the first one of five championships in a row. Three more titles followed in 2002, 2005 and 2006. The club first qualified for the UEFA Women's Cup in 2002-03, they won 2 out of 3 matches in the first qualifying round. VVV-Venlo (women)
VVV-Venlo is a Dutch women's football from Venlo. The team was founded in 2010, starting in the Eredivisie season 2010/11. The club is working together with SV Venray who is playing in the Hoofdklasse. Since 2011 VVV is working together with a German club FCR 2001 Duisburg. VVV-Venlo decided to stop playing in the Vrouwen Eredivisie/ BeNe League. Owing to the number of qualitative good female players in the Netherlands they foresee a team with insufficient quality. SC Heerenveen Vrouwen is a Dutch women's football (soccer) club based in Heerenveen representing SC Heerenveen in the Vrouwen Eredivisie, the top women's league in the Netherlands. Founded in 2007, Heerenveen was a founding member of the Vrouwen Eredivisie. After finishing last in 2008 and 2010 and second-to-last in 2009, in 2011 it attained its best result yet, finishing 4th and reaching the national cup final, lost against AZ Alkmaar. In April 2011 the club announced the women's team would be disbanded following the end of the season, but it subsequently cancelled the decision. The following season Heerenveen returned to the bottom of the table, ending last. In the 2012–13 season, Heerenveen moved in the newly founded BeNe League. AZ Alkmaar (women)
AZ or AZ Vrouwen was a women's association football club based in Alkmaar and the Zaanstreek, Netherlands. They were affiliated with the AZ men's team. They were founder members of the Eredivisie Vrouwen in 2007 and won the first three editions of the championship. In February 2011 AZ announced they were withdrawing support for their women's section, for financial reasons. Telstar entered a team in the 2011–12 women's Eredivisie and most of the AZ players signed for the newly formed club. In Januari 2022 AZ announced they were looking into restarting with a women's section. Two months later AZ revealed they were going to financially support and were working closely with VV Alkmaar. FC Utrecht Vrouwen was the women's football section of Dutch club FC Utrecht based in Utrecht. Established in 2007, as one of the founding members of the professional Dutch women's football league the team competed in the league from its inaugural season (2007–08) until 2011–12 and the BeNe League (Belgian and Dutch combined league) from 2012–13 until the team's dissolution in January 2014. FC Twente Vrouwen is the women's football (soccer) section of Dutch club FC Twente based in Enschede, and competes in the Vrouwen Eredivisie, the top women's league in the Netherlands. Extra Time
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament.
