KFWT-TV
KFWT-TV was a television station broadcasting on channel 21 in Fort Worth, Texas, United States. It was owned by the Trinity Broadcasting Company and served the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. KFWT-TV broadcast from 1967 to 1969. History On January 6, 1966, the Trinity Broadcasting Company, owners of KJIM-AM- FM in Fort Worth, was granted a construction permit for a new television station on channel 40 in Fort Worth. Trinity was left alone in its bid for the channel after Warner Bros. withdrew applications for UHF television stations in Chicago, Fort Worth and Houston, afraid that its antitrust record would result in lengthy and costly comparative hearings. Channel 20 had originally been assigned, but in 1965, the Federal Communications Commission undertook a sweeping overhaul of the UHF table of allocations nationwide, using a UNIVAC III computer to determine new channel allocations. KMEC-TV
KMEC-TV, UHF analog channel 33, was a television station licensed to Dallas, Texas, United States. The station broadcast in two stints, from 1967 to 1968 as KMEC-TV (owned by Maxwell Electronics Corporation) and in 1972 as KBFI-TV (owned by Berean Fellowship International). The station struggled in both incarnations and was ultimately sold to the Christian Broadcasting Network in 1973. CBN relaunched the station as KXTX-TV that April, but KXTX-TV remained on channel 33 for just seven months; that November, after CBN bought the assets, programming inventory and license of KDTV (channel 39), it moved KXTX to that channel. KTXA (channel 21) is an independent television station in Fort Worth, Texas, United States, serving the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. It is owned by the CBS News and Stations group alongside Fort Worth–based CBS station KTVT (channel 11). Both stations share primary studio facilities on Bridge Street (off I-30), east of downtown Fort Worth, and advertising sales offices at CBS Tower on North Central Expressway in Dallas. KTXA's transmitter is located in Cedar Hill, Texas. KTXA began broadcasting in January 1981 and was one of three new television stations in the Metroplex in six months. KFLC (1270 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Benbrook, Texas and broadcasting to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The station is owned by Univision Radio, with studios located along the John W. Carpenter Freeway in the Stemmons Corridor of Northwest Dallas. KFLC airs a Spanish language sports radio format, primarily airing programming from the co-owned TUDN Radio Network.
