KFUMs Boldklub København
KFUMs Boldklub (also known as KFUM) is a Danish sports club based in Emdrup in the Bispebjerg district of Copenhagen, founded in 1899. The club is best known for its 1940s amateur football team. It played six seasons in the top-flight Danish football championship from 1940 to 1958. KFUM is an independent sports club under the Copenhagen ''KFUM Centralforeningen'' (English: YMCA Central Association). Apart from football, KFUM has also had teams playing team handball, badminton, and table tennis. These other sports teams branched off in 2001, leaving only football at KFUMs Boldklub. History KFUMs Boldklub was founded on June 4, 1899 under the name of Kristelig Idrætsforening ( en, Christian Sports Association). Danish 2nd Division
The 2nd Division ( da, Danmarksturneringens 2. division or Herre-DM 2. division) is a semi-professional association football league for men and the third division in Denmark. It is organised by the Divisionsforeningen on behalf of the Danish Football Association (Danish FA; DBU) as part of the nation-wide Danmarksturneringen i fodbold (Herre-DM) and is positioned between the second-tier 1st Division and the fourth-tier Danish 3rd Division in the Danish football league system. Clubs in the league must meet certain criteria concerning appropriate facilities and finances. All of the 2nd Division clubs qualify for the proper rounds of the DBU Pokalen. The number of promoted and relegated clubs has fluctuated over the years. Denmark National Football Team
The Denmark men's national football team ( da, Danmarks herre-fodboldlandshold or ''herrelandsholdet'') represents Denmark in men's international football competitions. It is controlled by the Danish Football Association (DBU), the governing body for the football clubs which are organised under DBU. Denmark's home stadium is Parken Stadium in the Østerbro district of Copenhagen; their head coach is Kasper Hjulmand. Denmark were the winners of the Football at the 1906 Intercalated Games and silver medalists at the 1908 and 1912 Olympics. Stævnet
Stævnet ( da, the event or ''the meeting'') or Copenhagen XI were a Danish association football representative team which had its prime before 1970, however it was active until 1994. Stævnet participated in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, the precursor of UEFA Cup, in 1955–58, 1958–60, 1961–62, 1962–63 and 1963–64. The Copenhagen XI only competed in the above mentioned editions of the Inter-Cities Fairs Cups. All other tournaments involving a Copenhagen team were contested by individual clubs from Copenhagen. Usually Stævnet would feature players from its member clubs exclusively, but players were often borrowed from other Danish clubs. Alliancen
Alliancen (Danish for ''the alliance'') is a Danish association football organisation founded in 1940 by Fremad Amager, HIK, KFUMs Boldklub, B 1908 and ØB. Køge, Brønshøj, Skovshoved IF, Vanløse, Næstved and Esbjerg all joined later. The organisation was originally created in order to let some of the most talented players compete against foreign players, either in Denmark or abroad. Most of the matches played by Alliancen were exhibition matches either against its Danish competitor Stævnet, or against foreign teams, sometimes displaying a common Stævnet/Alliancen team. In one game, Alliancen played in front of 120,000 spectators. When European tournaments were established in the late 1950s, the need for international matches diminished, and the activity of matches against foreign teams was gradually reduced until it completely stopped in the 1970s. Arne Jacobsen
Arne Emil Jacobsen, Hon. FAIA () 11 February 1902 – 24 March 1971) was a Danish architect and furniture designer. He is remembered for his contribution to architectural functionalism and for the worldwide success he enjoyed with simple well-designed chairs. Biography Early life and education Arne Jacobsen was born on 11 February 1902 in Copenhagen. His father Johan was a wholesale trader in safety pins and snap fasteners. His mother Pouline was a bank teller whose hobby was floral motifs. He first hoped to become a painter, but was dissuaded by his mother, who encouraged him to opt instead for the more secure domain of architecture. Fælledparken
The park Fælledparken in Copenhagen, Denmark, was created 1906–1914 by landscape architect Edvard Glæsel in cooperation with the Copenhagen Municipality on the commons (Danish: ''fælled'') previously named ''Nørrefælled'' and ''Østerfælled''. The 3rd Division ( da, Danmarksturneringens 3. division or Herre-DM 3. division) is the fourth tier of the Danish football league system since the 2021–22 season. It is a semi-professional association football league for men. It is organised by the Divisionsforeningen on behalf of the Danish Football Association (DBU) as part of the nationwide football competitions and is positioned between the third-tier 2nd Division and the fifth-tier Denmark Series in the league pyramid. The 1st Division (''1. Division'') is the second-highest football league in Denmark, also known as NordicBet Liga for sponsorship reasons. From 1945 to 1991 the 1. In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are often called open leagues. In a system of promotion and relegation, the best-ranked team(s) in the lower division are ''promoted'' to the higher division for the next season, and the worst-ranked team(s) in the higher division are ''relegated'' to the lower division for the next season.
