KEVT (1210 AM broadcasting, AM) was a radio station licensed to Sahuarita, Arizona, United States, and served the Tucson area. KEVT was owned by One Mart Corporation. History KQTL In December 1982, various applicants filed to build a new radio station at 1210 kHz, which would serve the Sahuarita area. The lead investor in winning applicant El Saguarito Broadcasting Company, Phil Richardson, sold the construction permit to a group headed by former KXEW owner Ernesto Portillo, who launched the station as Spanish-language outlet KQTL in 1985. One of the minority investors of the new station was Raúl Grijalva, then on the board of the Tucson Unified School District. The station's Spanish contemporary music format continued into the 1990s; KQTL was sold in 1996 to CIMA Broadcasting, in which Portillo and other people involved with El Saguarito were investors, for $600,000. KCEE is a commercial radio station located in Tucson, Arizona, broadcasting on 690 AM. KCEE airs a Christian format and is owned by Calvary Chapel of Tucson, Inc. KCEE's programming is also heard on KAIC (88.9 FM), a station nominally licensed to Tucson but serving San Manuel, and on a translator at 106.7 FM in Tucson itself, relaying an HD Radio subchannel of KLPX (96.1 FM). Previously, the station broadcast at 690 kHz until a 2009 frequency swap with KCEE. The transmitters of KVOI is located in West Massingale Road. At day, it operates a 10,000 power to protect any interference with class A clear channel stations, such as WBZ in Boston, Massachusetts. Benson is a city in Cochise County, Arizona, Cochise County, Arizona, United States, east-southeast of Tucson, Arizona, Tucson. KCNN (97.7 FM) is a country music formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Benson, Arizona, serving western Cochise County and eastern Pima County. KCNN is owned and operated by Tom Troland, through licensee Redrock Media Group LLC. History A construction permit for a new radio station in Benson was issued in December 1977, with the callsign being awarded in 1979. After several time extensions, KAVV came to air in April 1983. Owner Paul Lotsof would collapse in the station's production room and soon after be reported as dead on August 27, 2022; his estate would then begin the process of selling the stations in his Stereo 97, Inc. company, including KAVV, which would be sold to Redrock Media Group LLC for $200,000, with the sale being reported September 9, just two weeks after Lotsof's death.
