KBMB (710 AM) is a radio station licensed to Black Canyon City, Arizona. Owned by Entravision Communications, it broadcasts a Spanish-language Sports format. History KUET went on the air November 23, 1981. The first station for Black Canyon City, KUET broadcast a full-service format. The station, a 500-watt daytimer, was owned by the Black Canyon Broadcasting Company (William Ledbetter and John Gates) and had studios at Metrocenter. However, KUET struggled to find an audience in Phoenix, and on November 7, 1984, it went dark when Harris Corporation repossessed its transmission equipment. KUET's license was sold to Statewide Broadcasters, Inc., in 1985. Statewide set about the task of increasing KUET's power to 50,000 watts day and adding nighttime service. Statewide's application was put into comparative hearing with a bid from Tucson's KVOI to move from 690 to 700 kHz and increase its power, but KUET won out. TUDN Radio (formerly Univision Deportes Radio) is a U.S. Spanish-language sports radio network operated by Uforia Audio Network, a division of TelevisaUnivision. It launched on March 15, 2017 on ten AM and FM radio stations, most of which previously affiliated with the ill-fated Univision America until its 2015 closure. Black Canyon City is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Yavapai County, Arizona, United States. The population was 2,837 at the 2010 census, up from 2,697 in 2000. Geography Black Canyon City is located at (34.069719, -112.139466), at an elevation of 1,975 feet (602 m). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , all land. Black Canyon City is located in southern Yavapai County and is approximately 22 miles north of Phoenix. Included in the southern part of Black Canyon City is the community of Rock Springs. It is served by Interstate 17, which bisects the city. I-17 is the main north-south freeway between Phoenix and Flagstaff. ''Norteño'' or ''Norteña'' (, ''northern''), also ''música norteña'', is a genre of Regional Mexican music. The music is most often based on duple and triple metre and its lyrics often deal with socially relevant topics, although there are also many norteño love songs. The accordion and the bajo sexto are traditional norteño's most characteristic instruments.
