KBEX (FM)
KBEX (96.1 FM broadcasting, FM) was a radio station licensed to Dalhart, Texas, United States, it served the Amarillo metropolitan area. The station was owned by Maria Ceniceros, through licensee Viva Media, LLC. The current studio's were located at 501 South Polk #110 in Amarillo, Texas, and its transmitter was northeast of Channing, Texas. The station was assigned the KBEX call letters by the Federal Communications Commission on February 20, 2013. KBEX was the second station to use the KBEX call sign. Prior to 2005, KBEX was typically used as a stock call sign for List of fictional television stations, fictional TV and radio stations in film, radio and television productions until the sign-on of KUBJ, KBEX in Brenham, Texas (which held the calls until 2008) that year. Viva Media surrendered KBEX's license to the FCC on August 2, 2021, who cancelled it the same day. Dalhart, Texas
Dalhart is a city in Dallam and Hartley counties in the U.S. state of Texas, and the county seat of Dallam County. The population was 7,930 at the 2010 census. History Founded in 1901, Dalhart is named for its location on the border of Dallam and Hartley Counties; its name is a portmanteau of the names of the two counties. The city was founded at the site of a railroad junction, which heavily contributed to its early growth. Dalhart was in the center of the Dust Bowl, an area adversely affected by a long period of drought and dust storms during the Great Depression of the 1930s. ''Barnaby Jones'' is an American detective television series starring Buddy Ebsen as a formerly retired investigator and Lee Meriwether as his widowed daughter-in-law, who run a private detective firm in Los Angeles, California. The show was originally introduced as a midseason replacement on the CBS network and ran from 1973 to 1980. Halfway through the series' run, Mark Shera was added to the cast as a much younger cousin of Ebsen's character, who eventually joined the firm. ''Barnaby Jones'' was produced by QM Productions (with Woodruff Productions in the final two seasons). It had the second-longest QM series run (seven and a half seasons), following the nine years of ''The FBI''. ''Mannix'' is an American detective television series that ran from 1967 to 1975 on CBS. It was created by Richard Levinson and William Link, and developed by executive producer Bruce Geller. The title character, Joe Mannix, is a private investigator played by actor Mike Connors. Premise During the first season of the series, Joe Mannix works for a large Los Angeles detective agency called Intertect, which was the planned original title of the show. His superior is Lew Wickersham, played by Joseph Campanella. Intertect uses computers to help solve crimes.
