Halit Refiğ
Halit Refiğ (5 March 1934 – 11 October 2009) was a Turkish film director, film producer, screenwriter and writer. He made around sixty films, including feature films, documentaries and TV serials. He is considered to be the pioneer of the National Cinema movement and the initiator of the production of TV serials in Turkey. Biography Halit Refiğ graduated from Şişli Terakki High School in 1951 and studied engineering at Robert College in Istanbul. Refiğ directed his first films in 8mm while he served as a military reserve officer in Korea, Japan and Ceylon. He wrote articles on cinema at newspapers in 1956 and published the ''Sinema Dergisi'' magazine together with Nijat Özön. He began his career as Atıf Yılmaz's assistant in 1957 together with Yılmaz Güney. He worked as scriptwriter for Atıf Yılmaz and Memduh Ün. Tarık Akan
Tarık Akan (born Tarık Tahsin Üregül; 13 October 1949 – 16 September 2016) was a Turkish film actor and producer, who started his activity in the 1965s. Early life Akan was born as Tarık Tahsin Üregül in Istanbul on 13 October 1949. He was the third child of the family after a daughter and a son. His family was constantly moving around Turkey due to his father's occupation in the military. Schooled in Erzurum, he completed the elementary education in Kayseri. Following his father's retirement, the family moved to Istanbul and settled in Bakırköy. Akan attended Yıldız Technical University to study mechanical engineering, graduated later from the College of Journalist. Before he started his acting career, he worked as a lifeguard at beaches and at a boat renting place in Bakırköy. He completed his military service in Denizli in 1979. Korhan Abay (born 1 January 1954) is a Turkish actor, author, film director and producer. Career Abay is a show-business icon in Turkey, well known for his work as an actor, writer, host and producer of numerous national and international TV shows and events. Türker İnanoğlu
Türker İnanoğlu (18 May 1936 – 2 April 2024) was a Turkish screenwriter, film director and producer. Personal life İnanoğlu married first the film actress Filiz Akın, and after his divorce Gülşen Bubikoğlu, another former Turkish movie star. He had two children, a son, İlker, from his former marriage and a daughter, Zeynep, from his last marriage. İnanoğlu died in Istanbul on 2 April 2024, at the age of 87. On 4 April 2024, he was interred at Kanlıca Cemetery following the religious service at Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque in Levent. Erler Film
Erler Film is a Turkish movie production company established in 1960 in Istanbul by the renowned Turkish film director and producer Türker İnanoğlu. Based today in Kavacık, Beykoz, it is the oldest film company in the country, which is still in business today. For more than 45 years, Erler Film produced feature films on a wide spectrum, from black-and-white to color movies, from domestic to co-productions, from history movies to comedies. Adventure Film
The adventure film is a broad genre of film. Some early genre studies found it no different than the Western film or argued that adventure could encompass all Hollywood genres. Commonality was found among historians Brian Taves and Ian Cameron in that the genre required a setting that was both remote in time and space to the film audience and that it contained a positive hero who tries to make right in their world. Some critics such as Taves limit the genre to naturalistic settings, while Yvonne Tasker found that would limit films such as '' Raiders of the Lost Ark'' (1981) from the genre. Tasker found that most films in the genre featured narratives located within a fantasy world of exoticized setting, which are often driven by quests for characters seeking mythical objects or treasure hunting.
