''Kékszakállú'' ( en, Bluebeard) is a 2016 Argentine drama film written and directed by Gastón Solnicki.Diana Sanchez,Kékszakállú" Toronto International Film Festival, 19 September 2016. It was screened in the Orizzonti section at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival. It is Solnicki's first narrative feature, after his previous documentary films ''Süden'' and ''Papirosen''. The film chronicles the coming-of-age of a group of female teenagers in Argentina, not quite knowing what to do with their future. It is only very loosely inspired by ''Bluebeard's Castle'', the Hungarian one-act opera by Béla Bartók and Béla Balázs. Solnicki said that he wanted to attain the "atmosphere and horror" of the original opera, yet with his own characters. Gastón Solnicki
Gastón Solnicki (born 1978) is an Argentine film director. The 73rd annual Venice International Film Festival was held from 31 August to 10 September 2016. English director Sam Mendes was the President of the Jury for the main competition. The opening night film was Damien Chazelle's musical ''La La Land''. The Golden Lion was awarded to Lav Diaz's film ''The Woman Who Left''. A new project named Venice Production Bridge was introduced in this edition of the festival. The new project is intended to attract industry professionals and focus on original projects for films, internet, series, virtual reality, and works in progress, in order to help their development and production. ''Duke Bluebeard's Castle'' ( hu, A kékszakállú herceg vára, link=no, or ''The Blue-Bearded Duke's Castle'') is a one-act expressionism, expressionist opera by Hungarian composer Béla Bartók. The libretto was written by Béla Balázs, a poet and friend of the composer, and is written in Hungarian, based on the French literary tale ''Bluebeard, La Barbe bleue'' by Charles Perrault. The opera lasts only a little over an hour and there are just two singing characters onstage: Bluebeard (), and his new wife Judith (); the two have just eloped and Judith is coming home to Bluebeard's castle for the first time.
