Kåre And The Cavemen
Kåre and the Cavemen, formerly known as Euroboys, is a Norwegian band formed in Harestua in 1990. The band changed their name to Euroboys in 1997 for releases outside of Norway and in 2000 for all releases including inside Norway. The band went on a hiatus in the late 2000s and reunited as Kåre and the Cavemen in 2014. History Beginnings Kåre and the Cavemen originally came from a smalltown north of Oslo called Harestua, and started out as a Beastie Boys inspired hip hop/punk band with founding members Kåre João Erik Pedersen (bass, vocals), Knut Schreiner (guitar) and Werner Holm (drums). They soon concentrated on punk rock, as Dag Gravem relieved Pedersen of his bass duties. In the fall of 1990, the group's musical orientation changed permanently to '50s and '60s instrumental garage rock heavily influenced by Link Wray, as Holm left and Pedersen took over the drums. Kåre Kristiansen
Kåre Gulbrand Kristiansen (11 March 1920 – 3 December 2005) was a Norwegian politician who was the leader of the Christian Democratic Party from 1975 to 1977, and again from 1979 to 1983, and Minister of Petroleum and Energy from 1983 to 1986. Noted as a right-wing conservative within his own party, he was known to take controversial positions at odds with the prevailing consensus. Biography Kristiansen was born in Bergen, the son of a lay preacher. Both his parents were active in the Salvation Army. He started his professional life as a telegraph operator in the Norwegian railroad system, where he rose through the ranks. Kåre Valebrokk
Kåre Valebrokk (17 December 1940 – 9 February 2013) was a Norwegian journalist and television executive. He was editor-in-chief and administrative director of TV 2 from October 1999 until June 2007, when he retired. He was the father of economist and editor Per Valebrokk. Valebrokk started his media career as a journalist in ''Morgenbladet'' from 1962 to 1968, and was later a journalist in ''Verdens Gang'' from 1979 to 1985. In 1985, Valebrokk was appointed editor-in-chief of the newspaper ''Dagens Næringsliv'', a position he held until he joined TV 2 in 1999. Kåre Stokkeland (12 July 1918 – 12 August 1985) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Molde. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Møre og Romsdal in 1965, and was re-elected on two occasions. Kåre Rønnes (born 13 January 1938) is a Norwegian former football player and coach. He played all his career in Rosenborg BK, Trondheim. Biography Kåre Rønnes played for his hometown team Rosenborg 19 consecutive seasons (1956 to 1974), a record shared with Ola By Rise. Roar Strand has played 19 successive seasons for the club. Rønnes played in all positions on the field, including goalkeeper, but mostly midfielder in the first part of his career, and defender in the later part. As young as 22 he became captain of the team. No accurate statistics exist on the number of matches Rønnes played, but it is estimated to 700. Harald Kåre Prytz (12 September 1926 – 6 July 1994) was a Norwegian journalist and novelist. He was born in Ålen Municipality, belonging to the Prytz family from Røros Municipality. He became editor-in-chief of '' Arbeidets Rett'' at the age of 19 before working in ''Hamar Arbeiderblad'' from 1951 to his retirement. Kåre Olafsen
Kåre Adolf Olafsen (19 January 1920 – 17 March 1945) was a Norwegian resistance member who was executed during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany. He was born in Sørum, and lived in Østre Aker. He became involved in Milorg in 1941, during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany, and was responsible for transport and provisioning in the district. His last mission was ''Aksjon smør'', in which Milorg men stole foodstuffs from two warehouses, one in the street ''Tollbugata'' belonging to German forces, and one in the street ''Skippergata'' belonging to Arbeidstjenesten. The foodstuffs were distributed to Milorg men who hid in the forests surrounding Oslo. He was arrested by the Nazi authorities on 13 February 1945, during a crackdown which began when two Gestapo officers intercepted a resistance meeting in Storm Weinholdt's home.
