György Kárpáti
György Kárpáti (23 June 1935 – 17 June 2020) was a Hungarian water polo player who competed at the 1952 Summer Olympics, 1956 Summer Olympics, 1960 Summer Olympics, and 1964 Summer Olympics. He is one of eight male athletes who won four or more Olympic medals in water polo, and one of ten male athletes who won three Olympic gold medals in water polo. Career Kárpáti was born in Budapest, and was a member of the Hungarian team which won the gold medal in the 1952 tournament. He played five matches and scored four goals. Four years later he was a member of the Hungarian team which won again the gold medal in the 1956 Olympic tournament. He played six matches and scored at least six goals (not all scorers are known). Károly Kárpáti
Károly Kárpáti (also Károly Kellner, born July 2, 1906 in Eger – September 23, 1996 in Budapest) was a Hungarian Olympic wrestling champion of History of the Jews in Hungary, Jewish heritage. Career Károly Kárpáti was born on July 2, 1906 in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He won a gold medal in 1936 in the Lightweight Freestyle class. The Jewish wrestler's victory in the Berlin 1936 1936 Summer Olympics, Nazi Olympics provided special significance, because it came at the expense of Germany's vaunted titleholder, Wolfgang Ehrl. He was one of a number of Jewish athletes who won medals at the Nazi Olympics in Berlin in 1936. Kárpáti won a silver medal in the Lightweight Freestyle class at the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Rudolf Kárpáti
Rudolf Kárpáti (17 July 1920 – 1 February 1999) was a fencer from Hungary, who won six gold medals in sabre at four Olympic Games (1948–1960). He also won seven gold, three silver and two bronze medals at the world championships. For his achievements he was named Hungarian Sportsman of the year in 1959 and 1960. Kárpáti graduated from the National Conservatory majoring in the history of music; he was also an accomplished violinist and the artistic director of the People’s Army Central Artistic Ensemble (1961–1986). Besides fencing and music, he was an employee at the Hungarian State Credit Bank and an officer with the Hungarian Army – he retired as Colonel, and later in 1990 was promoted to Major General. Kárpáti was a member of the Hungarian Fencing Federation from 1961 to 1991. Ödön Kárpáti
Ödön Kárpáti (2 January 1892 – November 1914) was a Hungarian long-distance runner. He competed in the marathon at the 1912 Summer Olympics. He started his athletic career at FTC and moved to BAK along with several of his teammates. Kárpáti was a long-distance runner, mostly in the 10K and marathon. At the 1912 Stockholm Olympics, he placed 31st in the marathon. In 1913, Kárpáti was suspended until 1914, due to his unacceptable behavior against the representative of the MASZ (Hungarian Athletic Association). Despite this ban, Kárpáti continued to compete and then was banned from racing for life, but subsequently it was modified until July 1915. Levente (between 1010 and 1015 – 1047) was a member of the House of Árpád, a great-grandson of Taksony, Grand Prince of the Hungarians. He was expelled from Hungary in 1031 or 1032, and spent many years in Bohemia, Poland and the Kievan Rus'. He returned to Hungary, where a pagan uprising was developing around that time, in 1046.
