Károly Radóczy
Károly Radóczy (30 August 1885 – 17 January 1962) was a Hungarian athlete. He competed at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London and at the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm. The men's 800 metres was a track and field athletics event held as part of the athletics at the 1912 Summer Olympics programme. It was the fifth appearance of the event, which is one of 12 athletics events to have been held at every Summer Olympics. The competition was held from Saturday, July 6, 1912, to Monday, July 8, 1912. Forty-seven runners from 16 nations competed. NOCs could enter up to 12 athletes.Official report, p. 61. The event was won by Ted Meredith of the United States, the nation's third consecutive victory in the 800 metres. William Hamilton (athlete)
William Franklin "Red" Hamilton (August 11, 1883 – August 1, 1955) was an American sprinter who competed at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London. Hamilton was a member of the 1600 m medley relay team that won the gold medal. He ran the first leg of 200 meters and was followed by Nate Cartmell (200 m), John Taylor (400 m) and Mel Sheppard (800 m). Hamilton gave the team a six-yard lead over the nearest competitor, running a split time of 22.0 seconds. Hamilton also competed in the 100 m and the 200 m events. He won the first-round heat of the 100 m in a time of 11.2 seconds but did not start the second round. In the 200 m, he was eliminated in the semifinal. Robert Kerr (athlete)
Robert Kerr (June 9, 1882 – May 12, 1963) was an Irish Canadian sprinter. He won the gold medal in the 200 metres and the bronze medal in the 100 metres at the 1908 Summer Olympics. Biography Kerr was born in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Ireland. His family immigrated to Canada when he was five, eventually settling in Hamilton, Ontario. While working as a fireman, Kerr also enjoyed running in his spare time. He soon became the best regional sprinter, and in 1904 he used his savings to travel to Saint Louis, United States and compete in the 1904 Summer Olympics. There, he was eliminated in the heats of all three events he entered (60 metres, 100 metres and 200 metres). However, Kerr's performances got better, and he set Canadian records in all sprint distances between 40 and 220 yards. He won Canadian titles in the 100 yards (1907) and 200 yards (1906 to 1908).
