The Kyrgyzstan national ice hockey team ( ky, Кыргызстандын улуттук шайбалуу хоккей курамасы; russian: Сборная Киргизии по хоккею с шайбой) is the national men's ice hockey team of Kyrgyzstan. They are controlled by the Ice Hockey Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic and has been an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). As of 2019, Kyrgyzstan is currently ranked 52nd in the IIHF World Ranking. History Kyrgyzstan played its first game in 1962 during the Spartakiad, Winter Spartakiad which was held in Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk, Soviet Union, USSR, in which they represented the Kirghiz Soviet Socialist Republic. 2019 IIHF World Championship Division III
The 2019 IIHF World Championship Division III was an international ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Group A tournament was held in Sofia, Bulgaria from 22 to 28 April and the qualification tournament in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates from 31 March to 6 April 2019. Both Kyrgyzstan and Thailand made their debut in the World Championships, with each winning their first game (Kyrgyzstan won all five of its games, but the first four were changed to forfeits due to an ineligible player). Bulgaria earned promotion to Division II, while the United Arab Emirates won the qualification tournament and were promoted. The Ice Hockey World Championships are an annual international men's ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). First officially held at the 1920 Summer Olympics, it is the sport's highest profile annual international tournament. The IIHF was created in 1908 while the European Championships, the precursor to the World Championships, were first held in 1910. Thailand National Ice Hockey Team
The Thailand national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of Thailand. The team is controlled by the Ice Hockey Association of Thailand and a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. Thailand is currently ranked at fifty-first in the IIHF World Rankings and have been entered in the World Championship tournaments since 2019 but have not yet participated at any Olympic Games. They have played in the Challenge Cup of Asia, a regional tournament for lower-tier hockey nations in Asia. The first official hockey league in Thailand, the Bangkok Ice Hockey league (BIHL) was founded in 2014. The Latvian men's national ice hockey team represents Latvia in international ice hockey. The team is ranked 10th in the world by IIHF as of 2019.
