Kyle Troup
Kyle Troup (born June 11, 1991) is an American professional ten-pin bowler residing in Taylorsville, North Carolina. He uses the two-handed shovel-style delivery with a dominant right hand. Troup says he needed two hands when learning to throw the ball as a young child, calling himself self-taught in that regard. Troup has been a member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) since 2008, and began completing full-time on the PBA Tour in 2015. He won his first national PBA Tour title at the 2015 PBA Wolf Open and has nine PBA Tour titles to date, including one major championship and two wins in the PBA Playoffs. Since 2018, Troup also competes internationally as a member of Team USA. With his $100,000 win at the PBA Playoffs on May 16, 2021, Troup set the PBA's single-season earnings record with $469,200, surpassing the $419,700 earned by Walter Ray Williams Jr. in the 2002–03 season. The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) is the major sanctioning body for the sport of professional ten-pin bowling in the United States. Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the PBA membership consists of over 3,000 members worldwide. Members include "pro shop" owners and workers, teaching professionals and bowlers who compete in the various events put on by the Association. Kristopher Prather
Kristopher "Kris" Prather (born January 1, 1992) of Plainfield, Illinois is an American professional ten-pin bowler who competes on the PBA Tour. He is known for winning the inaugural PBA Tour Playoffs on June 2, 2019 and the PBA Tournament of Champions on February 9, 2020. To date, Prather has won five PBA Tour titles, including two major championships. Kris has been nicknamed "Shark" and "Shark Kent" (a play on Clark Kent). He is a member of the Roto Grip and Vise Grips pro staffs. Amateur career Prather bowled collegiately at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. Marshall Kent (born September 21, 1992) is an American ten-pin bowler from Yakima, Washington who currently competes on the PBA Tour and World Bowling Tour. He has been a member of Junior Team USA, and is a six-time and current member of Team USA. He has won five PBA Tour titles and five PBA Regional titles. After 8 years as a member of the Storm Bowling pro staff, Kent accepted a sponsorship agreement with BIG Bowling in 2021. He is also sponsored by Turbo Grips, Dexter shoes and Apparel EFX. Chris Barnes (bowler)
Chris Barnes (born February 25, 1970) is an American professional Ten-pin bowling, bowler and member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA), who currently competes on both the PBA Tour and PBA50 Tour. He has also competed internationally as a member of Team USA. Barnes, a right-handed bowler, has been one of the leading professionals on the tour. He has won 19 PBA Tour titles and over $2.4 million (U.S.) in total prize money during his 20-year career. He has earned at least $100,000 in 14 PBA seasons, including 12 consecutive seasons (1999 through 2010–11). He won the PBA Rookie of the Year Award in 1998 and earned PBA Player of the Year honors in the 2007–08 season. He is known for being one of the first bowlers to gain media attention for using the two handed approach style to deliver his shot. Dominic Simon Barrett (often called Dom Barrett) (born 30 July 1985 in Cambridge, England) is one of England's leading ten-pin bowlers. He competes in world events and on the PBA Tour, where he has won ten titles. This total includes three PBA major titles: the PBA World Championship (2013), the U.S. Open (2018) and the Tournament of Champions (2022), which makes him the eighth triple crown winner in PBA history and the first European player to accomplish the feat. PBA World Championship
The PBA World Championship is one of five major PBA (Professional Bowlers Association) bowling events. It is one of three PBA Tour major events that are open only to PBA members. (The U.S. Open and USBC Masters allow qualifying amateurs to enter.) Prior to 2002, the tournament was called the PBA National Championship. The PBA National Championship was first contested on November 28, 1960, then called the First Annual National Championship; the winner was PBA Hall of Famer Don Carter. Tournament champions currently win the Earl Anthony Trophy, named in honor of the late PBA legend who won this title a record six times (1973–75 and 1981–83).
