Kyle Hayes
Kyle Hayes (born 1998) is an Irish hurler who plays for Limerick Senior Championship club Kildimo-Pallaskenry and at inter-county level with the Limerick senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a left wing-back. Club career Hayes joined the Kildimo-Pallaskenry club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels before eventually joining the club's top adult teams as both a hurler and Gaelic footballer. He enjoyed his first success at adult level when, on 28 October 2017, he lined out at left wing-forward when the club's intermediate team faced Glenroe in the final of the Limerick Intermediate Championship. He was held scoreless over the hour but ended the game with a winners' medal after the 2-13 to 0-09 win. On 21 October 2018, Hayes was selected amongst the substitutes when Kildimo-Pallaskenry faced Cappamore in the final of the Limerick Junior Football Championship. Kildimo
Kildimo () is a village in County Limerick, Ireland. The village is located on the N69 National Route about 13 km west of Limerick city close to the River Shannon estuary. The population was 417 at the 2016 census. Kildimo/Pallaskenry Parish The parish of Kildimo/Pallaskenry is in the barony of Kenry. The present-day parish is made up of what were once the parishes of Kildimo, Ardcanny and Chapelrussell. Chapelrussell parish was once called Killuragh, Killenalotar or Killulta. The name Kildimo comes from the Irish Cill Díoma, meaning the church of St Díoma. The old people of the parish used to pronounce the name 'Kildeema'. According to Mainchín Seoige, St Díoma is said to have flourished in the second half of the 5th century. He was reputedly of royal stock, the son of Cas, king of Munster, and an uncle of St Munchin, patron of the diocese of Limerick. His feast day is 12 May. Seánie O'Brien
John O'Brien (23 August 1919 – 19 December 1988), known as Seánie O'Brien, was an Irish hurler who played for club sides Éire Óg and Dicksboro and at inter-county level with the Kilkenny senior hurling team. He usually lined out as a full-forward. Career O'Brien played hurling as a schoolboy with the Kilkenny CBS team that won the Leinster Junior Championship in 1934. At club level, he won four consecutive Kilkenny MAHC titles with the Éire Óg club. O'Brien progressed onto the club's senior team and won his sole Kilkenny SHC title after a defeat of Carrickshock in 1939. He later had a lengthy senior career with the Dicksboro club. O'Brien first appeared on the inter-county scene during a three-year tenure with the Kilkenny minor hurling team. He won All-Ireland MHC medals in 1935 and 1936 and was team captain in 1937. The 2017 Munster Senior Hurling League, known for sponsorship reasons as the Co-Op Superstores.ie Munster Hurling League, was the second Munster Senior Hurling League, the annual hurling league competition for county teams from the province of Munster. Clare came into the season as the defending champions. For the second year in succession Tipperary declined to field a team in the league. John Kiely (Limerick Hurler)
John Kiely (born 1972) is an Irish hurling manager and former selector, Gaelic footballer and hurler. He has been manager of the Limerick senior hurling team since 2016. Born in Galbally, County Limerick, Kiely first played competitive hurling and Gaelic football in his youth. After beginning his club career at juvenile and underage levels, he later became a dual player at senior level with the Galbally and Garryspillane teams. Kiely won a total of three championship medals across both codes. He is principal of The Abbey, a secondary school in Tipperary Town. Career Kiely made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he joined the Limerick minor hurling team. After little success in this grade he later joined the under-21 team, also without championship success. 2018 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship
The 2018 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship was the 55th and last staging of the All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1964. The championship began on 7 May 2018 and ended on 26 August 2018. Limerick were the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Tipperary in the Munster semi-final. On 26 August 2018, Tipperary won the championship following a 3-13 to 1-16 defeat of Cork in the All-Ireland final.
