Kyle Goldwin
Kyle Albert Goldwin (born 24 April 1985), also known as Chino, is a Gibraltarian former footballer who played as a goalkeeper, most notably for Gibraltar United and Lincoln Red Imps. During his career, he earned 21 caps for the Gibraltar national football team. Club career Primarily a futsal player after leaving the Lincoln Red Imps youth teams as a youngster, not much is known about Goldwin's career before 2009, when he joined Sporting Club Gibraltar from Laguna. After four years with the club, he joined Gibraltar Premier Division side Glacis United in 2013. Chances were limited as the influx of Spanish players after Gibraltar's admission to UEFA, so in 2014 he moved to the newly revived Gibraltar United. At a club with a philosophy of only signing local players, he became first choice as they earned promotion to the Premier Division at the first attempt. The Gibraltarians (Spanish: ''gibraltareños'', colloquially: '' llanitos'') are an ethnic group native to Gibraltar, a British overseas territory located near the southernmost tip of the Iberian Peninsula at the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. Origins Some Gibraltarians are a racial and cultural mixture of the many immigrants who came to the Rock of Gibraltar over 300 years. Following its capture by an Anglo-Dutch force in 1704, all but 70 of the existing inhabitants of Gibraltar elected to leave with many settling nearby. 2020–21 Gibraltar National League
The 2020–21 Gibraltar National League season is the second season of the new Gibraltar National League in Gibraltar, and the 122nd season of football on the territory overall. There are no reigning champions this season, as the previous season was declared abandoned as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The league is due to kick off on 16 October 2020. Instead of qualifying for the 2021–22 UEFA Europa League, teams placed 2nd, 3rd and the 2021 Rock Cup winners will qualify for the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League. Format The structure of the league will follow that of the previous season. Teams will play one round of games as a single league, before splitting into two groups: the Championship Group contested by the top 6 sides, and the Challenge Group between the bottom 6 sides. Gibraltar National League
The Gibraltar Football League is the only senior tier of association football in Gibraltar, founded in 2019 as the Gibraltar National League after a merger of the Gibraltar Premier Division, which served as the top division of football on the Rock since 1905, and the Gibraltar Second Division, which had existed since 1909. It was announced in August 2019 by the Gibraltar Football Association. The league is supported by the Gibraltar Intermediate League for U23 sides and Hound Dogs. The 2018–19 UEFA Nations League was the inaugural season of the UEFA Nations League, an international association football competition involving the men's national teams of the 55 member associations of UEFA.
