Kyle Capobianco
Kyle Capobianco (born August 13, 1997) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was the 63rd overall selection of the Arizona Coyotes at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Capobianco's grandfather, Clare Exelby, is a former CFL player and uncle, Randy Exelby, is a former NHL player. Playing career Junior Capobianco played four seasons of junior hockey with the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League. The Coyotes selected him after his 2014–15 season, wherein he scored 10 goals and 30 assists in 68 games, for a total of 40 points. Tucson Roadrunners
The Tucson Roadrunners are a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL) that began play for the 2016–17 season. Based in Tucson, Arizona, and affiliated with the National Hockey League's Arizona Coyotes, the team plays its home games at the Tucson Convention Center. 2014–15 OHL Season
The 2014–15 OHL season was the 35th season of the Ontario Hockey League, in which twenty teams played 68 games each according to the regular season schedule, from September 24, 2014 to March 22, 2015. The Niagara IceDogs began play at their new arena, the Meridian Centre. The Ottawa 67's returned to TD Place Arena after a two-year hiatus due to a renovation. Brian Kilrea returned to coach the Ottawa 67's for one game on October 17, becoming the oldest coach in league history. The Oshawa Generals won the J. Ross Robertson Cup for the 13th time in franchise history, as they defeated the Erie Otters in five games in the final round of the playoffs. The Generals qualified for the 2015 Memorial Cup held at Colisée Pepsi in Quebec City. Canada Men's National Under-18 Ice Hockey Team
The Canadian men's national under 18 ice hockey team is part of a three-stage Program of Excellence beginning with the Under-17 regional teams and ending with the National Junior Team. The primary objectives of the Under-18 program are to identify, evaluate, and condition players to the rigors of international competition by giving first exposure to off-shore officiating, ice-surfaces, and travel. The Under-18 squad traditionally competes in the month of August, during the off season, to allow players to further develop skills with their respective junior teams in the winter following a week-long camp. IIHF World U18 Championship
The IIHF U18 World Championship is an annual event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation for national under-18 ice hockey teams from around the world. The tournament is usually played in April and is organized according to a system similar to the Ice Hockey World Championships and the IIHF World Junior Championship. History The United States leads the tournament with ten championships followed by Finland and Canada with four championships, and Russia with three and Sweden with two. Jordan Schmaltz (born October 8, 1993) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman who is currently playing for EHC Kloten in the Swiss National League (NL). He was drafted 25th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Schmaltz played collegiate hockey with the University of North Dakota after playing in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Green Bay Gamblers, where he won the 2012 Clark and Anderson Cups. He also received First-Team honors of the USHL. In 2011, he was traded to the Gamblers from the Sioux City Musketeers, where he was named to the 2010–11 USHL All-Rookie Team and also to the USHL First All-Star Team.
