Football Federation of Kyiv (FFK) is a football governing body in the region of Kyiv city, Ukraine. The federation is a collective member of the Football Federation of Ukraine. The city competitions separate from the Kyiv region started sometimes in mid 1930s with establishment of the city committee in physical culture and sports. However the first recorded official competitions started earlier just before the WWI in 1911 with creation of the Kiev Football League which existed until 1924. Following the disbandment of the Kiev Football League as a "heritage of the Tsarist regime", football competitions were conducted under auspices of regional council of physical culture gubernatorial and, after liquidations of gubernias, okruha (districtal). Regional football federations of Ukraine is associated members of Football Federation of Ukraine in regions of Ukraine. In 2000, Football Federation of Ukraine created Council of Regions for the development of football in the regions throughout the country. It was dissolved in 2010. Description There are 24 active members, while membership of other 3 association is suspended due to the 2014 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Each region conducts its own championship, while most of them has also the second and the third tiers of league competitions. FC Borysfen Boryspil is a formerly professional Ukrainian football club from Boryspil, Ukraine. The club was created as a phoenix club in 1997 by Ihor Kovalevych after disagreement in FC CSKA Kyiv (today FC Arsenal Kyiv). The history of the club is controversial and its admission to professional competitions is dubious.
