Kyambogo University
Kyambogo University (KYU) is a public university in Uganda. It is one of the eight public universities and degree-awarding institutions in the country with the motto, "Knowledge and Skills for Service." History Kyambogo University was established in 2003 by the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act 2001 by merging Uganda Polytechnic Kyambogo (UPK), the Institute of Teacher Education, Kyambogo (ITEK), and the Uganda National Institute of Special Education (UNISE). Uganda Polytechnic Kyambogo In 1928 the trade and technical courses at Makerere College (now Makerere University) were split off into the new Kampala Technical School. The school moved to Nakawa and became the Kampala Technical Institute. In 1958 that school was moved to Kyambogo renamed Uganda Technical College and then was finally renamed Uganda Polytechnic, Kyambogo. John Ssebuwufu
John Pancras Mukasa Lubowa Ssebuwufu, commonly known as John Ssebuwufu is a Ugandan chemist, academic and administrator. He is a former chancellor of Kyambogo University, Uganda's second-largest public university serving between 2014-2022 having served for 2 terms. He was installed as chancellor on 19 February 2014, replacing Eric Tiyo Adriko, who had completed his two term tenure. The correct spelling of his last name is ''Ssebuwufu''. However the literature contains many instances where the name is spelled with a single "s". Background He was born in Uganda's Central Region in 1947. Education Ssebuwufu attended Namilyango College for his middle and high school education in the 1960s. Daniel Kidega
Daniel Fred Kidega is a Ugandan politician and former Speaker of the East African Legislative Assembly, in office from December 2014 until June 2017. As of August 2020, he served as the chairman of Atiak Sugar Factory, in Amuru District, in which the Uganda government owned 40 percent shareholding. Lukia Isanga Nakadama
Lukia Isanga Nakadama, sometimes written Rukia Isanga Nakadama, is a Ugandan businesswoman, educator and politician. She is the current Third Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda and Minister Without Portfolio, effective 9 June 2021. Before that, she served as State Minister for Gender and Culture in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was appointed to that position in 2006. Rukiya Chekamondo
Rukiya Kulany Chekamondo (born 7 October 1965), sometimes spelled as Rukia Kulany Chekamondo, is a Ugandan educator and politician. She was the State Minister for Privatization in the Ministry of Finance, from June 2006 until May 2011. In the cabinet reshuffle of 27 May 2011, she was dropped from the cabinet and replaced by Aston Kajara. She also served as the elected Member of Parliament (MP), for Kapchorwa District Women's Representative, from 2006 until 2011. Charles Bakkabulindi
Charles Bakkabulindi (born 25 November 1959), is a Ugandan politician. Of recent he served as the State Minister for Sports in the Ugandan Cabinet, Hamsom Obua succeeded him. Henry Aggrey Bagiire is a Ugandan politician and educator. He served as the State Minister for Agriculture in the Cabinet of Uganda from 16 February 2009 until 27 May 2011. Busoga
Busoga ( Lusoga: Obwakyabazinga bwa Busoga) is a kingdom and one of four constitutional monarchies in present-day Uganda. The kingdom is a cultural institution which promotes popular participation and unity among the people of the region through development programs to improve their standard of living. William Gabula
William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Gabula Nadiope IV (born 1 November 1988), the Gabula of Bugabula, is the reigning Kyabazinga of Busoga, a constitutional kingdom in modern-day Uganda. He is the fourth Kyabazinga of Busoga. Claim to the throne Gabula was born in Jinja on 1 November 1988. He is the son of Wilson Gabula Nadiope II, onetime minister of tourism in the Ugandan Cabinet, who died in 1991, and Josephine Nadiope, who died in 1993.
