KWID
KWID (101.9 FM, "La Buena 101.9") is a commercial radio station that is licensed to Las Vegas, Nevada. The station is owned by Lotus Communications and broadcasts a Spanish-language adult hits format. The KWID studios are located in the unincorporated community of Spring Valley in Clark County and its transmitter is on Black Mountain in Henderson. Prior to the use of the call letters in Las Vegas, there was an unrelated shortwave radio station called KWID during World War II. Based in San Francisco, the original KWID was commissioned by the federal government to reach an international audience. It served as the basis for what later became the Voice of America radio network. History Easy listening (1963-1974) The station at 101.9 FM in Las Vegas signed on in 1963 as KRGN with an easy listening format. It took its call sign from its owner, E. W. Cragin. Mohammad Ismael Kwid ( ar, محمد اسماعيل قويض; born 9 April 1956), also known as Abu Shakir ( ar, أبو شاكر), is a Syrian football manager and former player, who is the current manager of Emirati club Al Dhafra. He is considered one of the greatest managers in Syria, having led Al-Karamah to various league titles and the Asian Champions League Final. Kwid has also created a youth academy in Homs with Mootaz Mando. Managerial career Kwid began his managerial career in 1989 with Maysalon Damascus. Kwid took charge of the Lebanon national team for a short period, between 19 and 28 November 2003. On 14 July 2004, he was recalled as manager of Lebanon, staying in charge until 2005. The Renault Kwid is a crossover city car produced by the French car manufacturer Renault, initially intended for the Indian market and launched in 2015. In 2017, an improved Brazilian version was introduced for Latin American markets. Its battery electric version, named Renault City K-ZE, was launched in 2019, being manufactured in China and exported to Europe since 2021 as Dacia Spring Electric and to Latin America since 2022 as Renault Kwid E-Tech.
