Kwara State Internal Revenue Service
Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) is the sole agency responsible for collection of tax and all other forms of internally generated revenue by the Kwara State Government with its headquarters in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria and area offices in all 16 local governments in Kwara State. Established on June 22, 2015, when the Kwara State Revenue Administration Law, 2015 (Law No.6 of 2015) was passed, the service took over the responsibility of tax administration from the old Kwara State Board of Internal Revenue which immediately became defunct. In September 2018, the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service became the first revenue service (IRS) in Nigeria to achieve two ISO certifications and the first state internal revenue service (SIRS) to achieve any ISO certification at all. Kwara State
Kwara State ( yo, Ìpínlẹ̀ Kwárà), is a state in Western Nigeria, bordered to the east by Kogi State, to the north by Niger state, and to the south by Ekiti, Osun, and Oyo states, while its western border makes up part of the international border with Benin Republic. Its capital is the city of Ilorin and the state has 16 local government areas. Of the 36 states of Nigeria, Kwara is the ninth largest in area, but the sixth least populous, with an estimated population of about 3.2 million as at 2016. Folashade Omoniyi, also known as Shade Omoniyi (born March 26, 1968), is a businesswoman and the executive chair of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service. She was previously MD/CEO of FBN Mortgages Limited, a subsidiary of First Bank of Nigeria. Early life and education Folashade was born in Kano, Nigeria on March 26, 1968. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (born 5 February 1960) is a Nigerian politician, who has served as governor of Kwara State since 2019. He was previously the CEO of First Fuels Limited. He contested unsuccessfully for the governor of Kwara State in 2003, 2007 and 2011 respectively under the Congress for Progressive Change political party and was successively defeated by Abubakar Bukola Saraki in 2003 and 2007, and by Abdulfatah Ahmed in 2011. However in 2019, he contested again under the ruling political party in Nigeria, the All Progressive Congress, and emerged as the governor of Kwara State, after he won the 2019 governorship election in the state.
