KwaZulu-Natal Inland Women's Cricket Team
The KwaZulu-Natal Inland women's cricket team, also known as the Hollywoodbets Tuskers, is the women's representative cricket team for part of the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal, based primarily in Pietermaritzburg. They compete in the Women's Provincial Programme and the CSA Women's Provincial T20 Competition. History KwaZulu-Natal Inland Women joined the South African domestic structure in the 2006–07 season, playing in the Women's Provincial League, finished 5th in their group with four wins from their twelve matches. They joined a team named KwaZulu-Natal in the league, who were later renamed KwaZulu-Natal Coastal. They have never reached the knockout stages of the one-day provincial competition. City Oval
City Oval (formerly Alexandra Park and sometimes called the Pietermaritzburg Oval), is a multi-purpose stadium in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. The 12,000 capacity stadium is currently used predominantly for cricket matches, with the ground being used by KwaZulu-Natal Inland men's and women's teams, KwaZulu-Natal and Dolphins (who also play at Kingsmead, Durban), and hosted two matches during the 2003 Cricket World Cup. Pietermaritzburg (; Zulu: umGungundlovu) is the capital and second-largest city in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. CSA Women's Provincial Programme
The CSA Women's Provincial Programme, also known as the CSA Women's Provincial One-Day Tournament, is a women's domestic one-day cricket competition organised by Cricket South Africa. The competition currently sees sixteen provincial teams competing in 50-over matches, and has existed, under various names, since the 1995–96 season. The most successful side in the history of the competition are Western Province, with eight recorded title wins. The holders are North West, who won the 2021–22 tournament. The CSA Women's Provincial T20 Competition is a women's domestic Twenty20 cricket competition organised by Cricket South Africa. The tournament began in the 2012–13 season, and currently sees sixteen teams competing. Western Province are the most successful side in the history of the competition, with seven title wins, as well as being the current holders, winning the 2021–22 tournament. History The tournament began in the 2012–13 season, running alongside the CSA Women's Provincial League. Sixteen teams competed in four groups, with the group winners progressing to the knockout rounds. Western Province won the competition, beating Gauteng in the final. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises.
