Kven Language
The Kven language ( or ; or ; fi, kveeni or ; no, kvensk) is a Finnic language or a group of Finnish dialects spoken in the northernmost parts of Norway by the Kven people. For political and historical reasons, it received the status of a minority language in 2005 within the framework of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages. Linguistically, however, it is seen as a mutually intelligible dialect of the Finnish language, and grouped together with the Peräpohjola dialects such as Meänkieli, spoken in Torne Valley in Sweden. While it is often considered a dialect in Finland, it is officially recognized as a minority language in Norway and some Kven people consider it a separate language. Yle Uutiset is the Finnish news production unit of Yle. Yle Uutiset also produces news in Sami, Russian and English. News in the other national language, Swedish, is produced by the unit Svenska Yle. Alta, Norway
( se, Áltá ; fkv, Alattio; fi, Alattio) is the most populated municipality in Finnmark in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Alta. Varanger Fjord
The Varangerfjord ( en, Varanger Fjord; russian: Варангер-фьорд, Варяжский залив; fi, Varanginvuono; sme, Várjavuonna) is the easternmost fjord in Norway, north of Finland. The fjord is located in Troms og Finnmark county between the Varanger Peninsula and the mainland of Norway. The fjord flows through the municipalities of Vardø, Vadsø, Nesseby, and Sør-Varanger. The fjord is approximately long, emptying into the Barents Sea. In a strict sense, it is a false fjord, since it does not have the hallmarks of a fjord carved by glaciers. Vestre Jakobselv
Vestre Jakobselv ( sme, Ánnejohka; fkv, Annijoki) is a village in Vadsø Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, in extreme northeastern Norway. The village lies along the European route E75 highway about west of the town of Vadsø and the same distance east of the village of Nesseby in neighboring Nesseby Municipality. The village is located on the southern shore of the large mainland Varanger Peninsula at the mouth of the river Jakobselva, which is where the village gets its name. The river empties into the Varangerfjorden at this village. Upstream from the village, the Jakobselva river is known to be a superb sport fishing river, with a lot of big salmon. Neiden, Finnmark

Bugøynes
( fi, Pykeijä) is a fishing village in Sør-Varanger Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county in northeastern Norway. The village is situated along the Varangerfjorden which is a vast bay off the Barents Sea (a part of the Arctic Ocean), near the border with Russia. The village is situated some north of the Arctic Circle, with nearly 230 inhabitants. The village is populated by many Finnish-speaking residents, leading to the village being referred to as or "Little Finland". Kainun institutti – kvensk institutt (before 2005 known as ''Norsk senter for kvensk språk og kultur'') is a center for Kven culture and language.
