Kvalsund ( sme, Fálesnuorri and fkv, Valasnuora) is a former municipality in the old Finnmark county in Norway. The municipality is now part of Hammerfest Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county. The municipality existed from 1869 until its dissolution in 2020. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Kvalsund. Other villages in the municipality include Áisaroaivi, Kokelv, Oldernes, Oldervik, Revsneshamn, Skaidi. At the time of its dissolution on 1 January 2020, the municipality was the 37th largest by area out of the 422 municipalities in Norway. Kvalsund was also the 392nd most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 1,027. Kvalsundet
Kvalsundet is a strait in Hammerfest Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The strait separates the island of Kvaløya from the mainland. The strait is crossed by Kvalsund Bridge, which connects Kvaløya to the mainland and is the world's northernmost suspension bridge. Kvalsund ( sme, Ráhkkerávju) is a village in Hammerfest Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. It was formerly the administrative centre of Kvalsund Municipality. The village is located on the mainland, along the Kvalsundet strait, at the mouth of the river Kvalsundelva. Finnmark
Finnmark (; se, Finnmárku ; fkv, Finmarku; fi, Ruija ; russian: Финнмарк) was a county in the northern part of Norway, and it is scheduled to become a county again in 2024. Repparfjorden is a fjord in the municipality of Hammerfest in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. Hammerfest or Hámmárfeasta is a town that is also the administrative centre of Hammerfest Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. It is located on the northwestern coast of the island of Kvaløya, just north of the village of Rypefjord and southwest of the village of Forsøl. Sørøysund is a former municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1852 until its dissolution in 1992. It is located in the present-day municipality of Hammerfest. Kvaløya, Finnmark
Kvaløya ( sme, Fálá) is a large island in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The island is located in Hammerfest Municipality. The town of Hammerfest is located in the western shore of the island. Other villages on the island include Forsøl, Rypefjord, and Stallogargo. The island is connected to the mainland via Norwegian National Road 94 which crosses the Kvalsund Bridge in the southern part of the island. Most of the settlements on the island are on the western shore along the highway 94. There is a ferry connection between Kvaløya and the island of Seiland to the southwest.
